BACK TO THE BASICS

Image
With the weather so nice and having my wellness exam and vaccines I was ready to get back to my daily walks and healthy eating!  My walk takes me around our complex and block and I do it twice.  It takes about 45 minutes.  Most of the walk in in the sunshine, but when I get back to the front of the complex it's shady and feels really nice. When I did my Costco run they had the "Sweet Gems".  They are small romaine lettus heads.  Perfect for small wraps.  I filled mine with egg salad with shredded carrots, green onions and cilantro.  A little mayo and a little honey mustard.  Yummy! Up date on our little dove. I named her "Dovey"  She sits on her egg (not sure if she laid another one) but she has not left the nest! The name "Dovey" has special meaning to me.  I had never heard of anyone named that until years ago my mother shared that she had a baby sister that died of a fever and her name was "Dovey".  Before my Aunt Cassie p...

SHE LAID AN EGG

Image
What a nice surprise this morning when I pulled back the curtain for a peek!  One small egg.  Also, a few bits of green grass for a cushion.  I was thinking the nest looked pretty scratchy.  But then what do I know?  HaHa.   This is a true Easter Blessing!  Getting to watch God's beautiful nature doing it's thing. Wonder if she will lay another egg, and why she left the egg???  Questions we will hopefully get answers too. I went to church Palm Sunday.  It's been a long time.  My dearest isn't up to going, but I decided I would celebrate Palm Sunday at church and fellowship wth some missed friends.

PALM SUNDAY

Mark 11:7-10  "When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw  their cloaks over it, he sat on it.  Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields.  Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, "Hosanna" Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!" Hosanna in the highest!" No pomp, high flying banners or red carpet for You my King.  Your retinue were peasants.  Your banner were palm branches.  Your welcoming carpet was coats strewed on a dusty road.  So You entered Jerusalem: God on a donkey.  Here is humility that will imprint itself on my heart forever.  Here is the character of God.  Lord, remove every trace of arrogance from my soul.  Make me like You.   I love You.  Amen. googleimages.com Maranatha Worship Bible

WHERE DID THE TIME GO??

Image
It seems like yesterday my dearest and I went to the hospital to see our first great grandson, Issac!  That was 14 years ago.  He is now a teenager and taller than his grandma and great grandma!  A sweet boy with a big heart! And then there was Matthew, now 13.  These boys love sports, and Dodger fans!  Have traveled across the country with his family to watch them play!  I'm thrilled I have been able to live long enough to enjoy great grandsons. And last but not least, our youngest grandson, Tristan.  He will be eight this June.  He is hilarious and funny and loves to be in front of a camera!!  Thumbs up, Tristan ~~ You are our cutie pie! While I was on Blog Break my daughters took me out for the day and we enjoyed a wonderful Mexican lunch on Taco Tuesday ~ Yum, fish tacos.  My favorite!  We have had such lovely Sunny Southern CA weather!! We sat outside under a canopy and enjoyed the food and view.  God is Good. ...

DOVES ON THE WINDOW LEDGE

Image
We heard some noised outside the window where my desk and computer are, and it was two doves building a nest on the window ledge.  The above picture is from googleimages, as I am afraid of disturbing the doves by moving the curtain to take a picture.  Perhaps I can get a picture of the nest if they leave it for a while. It's been a nice long break.  Much time spent in reading, resting, and sharing with family.  It was a needed time, but I truly did miss my times on the blog.  I did from time to time visit some of you, but didn't comment. During my blogging break two dear blog friends have passed away.  Susie's husband Ted lost his battle with cancer (She Junks), and a sweet and beautiful woman, named Linda (Woke up Got out of Bed).  Life is like a vapor, the Bible says,  Here today, gone tomorow.  How thankful we should be for each and every day.
