A FALL BREAK

Image
Been taking a break, but making it official.  Need less time blogging and more time living.  Setting some new priorities.  It's a beautiful month...more walking, more reading, more sharing with family and friends at church.  More time in my Bible Studies and many wonderful hours just loving and visiting with my dearest! You never can tell...I may just pop in to visit all of you from time to time.

THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY FROM MY DEAREST

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might." Ephesians 6:10 (ESV) Joshua 1:1& 7 -9 (CSBBible) 1After the death of Moses the LORD's servant, the LORD spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses's assistant: .....7 Above all, be strong and very courageous to observe carefully the whole instruction my servant Moses commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or the left, so that you will have success wherever you go. 8 This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to meditate on it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do. 9 Haven't I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Father intimidation is one of the strategies Satan uses against Christians. Fear is a fo rmidable and is capable of distracting us from the source and focus o...

LIFE IS BETTER WITH "CRUNCH"

Image
I can't remember the last time I made cookies!!  Several blueberry coffee cakes and scones have been enjoyed, but I just had a craving for cookies!!  I love "texture" so put a little "crunch" in some of my chocolate cookiess this time for a test!   We love the Vanilla Almond Crunch cereal I get at Trader Joes.  It's just full of yummy nuggets, almonds and vanilla flakes.  By the time we are at the end of the cereal, there is at least a cup of crunchy crumbs in the bottom.  I saved them this time, and when I made the chocolate chip cookie dough, I rolled some into balls and coated them with the crumbs.  Oh my goodness...the crunch is so good.  You can see in the close up, a few flakes got left in the mix too. So the test was a success!!  Yes life needs a little "crunch"!

THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY FROM MY DEAREST

“ It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 (ESV) Father, help us to understand the vital necessity of the daily reading and mediitating on your Word to the sustenance of our spiritual life. Help us to follow the counsel and guidance of the Scriptures given by the Holy Spirit to: "Let Christ's word with all its wisdom and richness live in you...." Colossians 3:16 (GW) Indeed Father how: "How sweet your word is to my taste —sweeter than honey in my mouth." Psalm 119:103 (CSB) Thank you Father for this spiritual daily bread that is sweet to our taste, nourishing to our soul, renewing to our mind and invigorating to our life as we daily partake of it's treasures and truth. As the Scriptures say: "9....The laws of the LORD are true; each one is fair. 10 .....They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. Psalm 19:9-10 (NLT) And Father may we also say...

THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY FROM MY DEAREST

"..... if it is God's purpose for you to undergo pain,..." 1 Peter 3:17 (BBE) "Embrace it" is what she said, my dermatologist. I have a rash that is symptomatic to old age. I guess it comes with the territory. Some rashes can be medically helped and sometimes with natural medicine. But my diagnosis is "There is no cure at the present time." I know that pain is a challenge and grace is a gift to enable me to embrace the challenge. What is good enough for the Apostle Paul ought to be good enough for me. " Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 (ESV) Dear Father, you know I hate pain. It is such a nuisance, distraction and misery. And yet I know that through pain your goodness, will...

HELLO SEPTEMBER

Image
No new decorations, just putting them in a little different place or using them in a different way.  My wonderful Pumpkin Soup Turrene has a perminent place in the middle of our dining table.  My pumpkin pie place can be seen through the glass top on a little storage rack that is part of the table! A few fall flowers that show up every fall..HaHa The coffee table makes a perfect spot for my battery candles and a few of my favorite white pumpkins.  A few more flowers for color! I remembered my Pumpkin watercolor stored away, and decided to enjoy it and remember how much I enjoyed painting it.  This gives you a glimpse into the kitchen from the living room. My "Harvest" sign is a welcome reminder that I need to be thankful for all the blessings of harvest, and the food we enjoy each day. I like to drink my coffee in my large pumpkin mug.  Walking around our home and enjoying the Fall Colors makes me smile!  Yes, I'm very glad I decided to do it!!!
