  "MICHEL" Picture from googleimages.com Vintage Michel Lipstick $37.00 Several times in my posts I've mentioned our daughter "Michel".  Someone ask me how it was pronounced and it's "Michelle". There is a story behind the spelling of her name.  Long before she was a thought, when I was back in college at Biola in Southern CA, I worked as a waitress at Knotts Berry Farm Chicken House to help pay for college.  Next to the restrurant was "Virginia's Gift Shop" with some very nice cosmetics.  There was a poster showing a beautiful woman advertising the lipstick.  I thought it was a pretty name and a lovely face.  The name stuck with me and when our firstborn was a girl, she was named after a tube of lipstick!  Is there a story behind your name??

Saturday, our daughter Michel, "kidnapped" me for a Day at the Beach.  Dad was doing good and was well taken care of for the day, so off we went, just the two of us.   This is Michel (pronounced Michelle) and our firstborn.  She lives the closest to us and has been our right arm since her Dad's health issues.  She knows my love of the ocean, so we spent the most enjoyable day at Crystal Cove, in New Port Beach. To get to the beach, you park in a lot at the top of a hill, across Pacific Coast Hyw and the ocean.  You better have on your walking shoes, as you trek down a path and then..... ...through a tunnel and more paths and then you come to the beautiful beach.

 HE IS ABLE Jeremiah 32:17,26 "Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and earth by your great power and outstretched arm.  Nothing is too hard for You."  "I am the Lord, the God of all mankind.  Is anything too hard for me?" There are certain books I read every day.  It seemed like a good thing to keep them all in one place and close at hand.  So this is my "Couch Library."  My One Year Bible, my prayer journal, a couple of novels and a book on the Parables.  That should keep me busy for a while. You can see I took down Christmas, but left up the white lights for a while longer.  I love the look they give the room.  Keeping the splashes of red and will add my Valentine decorations soon. With a new surge of Covid-19 in our area, we are staying in.  Thankfully we don't have any doctor appointments in January.  

  In the early days of my growing up in the 40's, my dad was a small business owner.  He and a friend opened the Dill & Clark Auto Radiator and Repair Shop on West Main Street, in Turlock, CA. He was a hard working man.  A man of integrity and a very good mechanic.  I remember as a little girl coming to the shop and sitting at the small desk and prtending I was his secretary.  His little receipt book had his motto on the top.  I remember it still.  "Cool as a Cucumber".  If you ever had a radiator heat up...you would appreciate this. My dad built our home, and also his shop.  He was skilled in so many things.  He always wanted to learn to fly.  So he took lessons at a small airport near us for $8.00 a lesson.  After he got his licsence I had the excitment of flying with him in a small plane.  One of my fondest memories.  I always love to fly and many years later, my dearest and I had the pleasure of flying from Ca...

  Decided today would be a good day to stay in my new PJ's I got for Christmas!! A busy week to begin 2021.  Filing away paid bills and recipts for 2020.  Doing inventory and restocking pantry.  Didn't even get my "Thoughts for Sunday" posted.   Today I'm making some potato salad and will get my reading done.  Both my dearest and I have decided to read through the Bible this year.  I completed 2018, 2019, but only got a few months in as 2020 as it became a most different year, and other things took my time. I'm using the "One Year Study Bible" in the New Living translation.  My dearest is using the Daily Bread Yearly study. Sunday was a slow day for my dearest, so I decided to go to church without him.  We've missed a lot of Sunday's during Christmas Season.  I really miss the fellowship.  It was a good service, and nice to see many friends I'd missed.   We have decided that Don will plan to go to church, but the fina...
