THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY ~ FREEDOM

Image
II Corinthians 3:17  "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.  And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, and are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is Spirit." Father, I praise You.  Through Jesus You have removed the veil of doubt from my mind so that I might understand Your Word more clearly.  You have removed the veil of bondage from my heart so that I might live in freedom before You.  You have removed the veil of darkness from my face so that I might reflect You light to others.  Help me to live boldly before You, realizing that you have placed me here to fill my corner of the world with the hope and glory of Christ.  I love You.  Amen. A "FRENCH" ANNIVERSARY

Image
I have a favorite French Bistro in Santa Barbara ~ Stella Mares.  So quaint and special and that's were we celebrated 57 years of marriage on June 24th. My choice was delightful.  No ordinary eggs when I could have blueberry stuffed french toast with fresh blueberries, raspberries and whipped cream.  It was dessert for breakfast, and it was heavenly.   My dearest had Eggs Benedict and he enjoyed every bite!   I love this garden room and requested when we made our reservations to be seated there.  I could move into a French Villa like this! A couch sits in front of the fireplace and we sat after brunch and just enjoyed the atmosphere and reflecting on our life-long love for each other.

THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY "IN THE QUIET OF THE MORNING"

Image
Dear Heavenly Father ~ In the quiet of the morning, I will worship Your name.  I will lift my voice with singing to praise You again.  For it fills my heart with gladness that remains through the day.  In the quiet of the morning, I will worship Your name. * You're calling me to a deeper place.  You are calling me to come away.  This is the day You have made to walk in Your love and grace.  And I will sing to You my King, forever and ever.   I will rise up and worship Your holiness.  I will sing a song of Your faithfulness.  On the mountains and through the valleys.  Your love will be my peace.  And I will sing of Your love for me.  I love You.  Amen. ** *In the Quiet of the Morning ~ Wes Tuttle **I Will Rise Up ~Mike Ash Maranatha Worship Bible

A WHIRLWIND MONTH

Image
A crazy wonderful month!  Jill and Tristan's visit from Oregon, and his 5th Birthday.  Aunt Michel gave him the party of a life time. He got to see his Uncle Myk and big cousin Elijah and Aunt Chelenne...they had not seen him since he was one. Uncle Myk (our son) hosted a wonderful Mexican BBQ. The chili's filled with Mexican cheese were to die for. Then off to another adventure.  Adventure City!! Just perfect for younger kids. Aunt Michel, and our great grandson's Issac and Matthew joing for the fun day. They kids rode all the rides and Tristan was having the time of his life.  The higher or faster they went, the more he love it.  Grandma got on this one!!! UP, UP, UP we go....wheee! Back to Grandma's and the playground and pool.   Tristan and Jill both enjoyed the pool several times a day. They are back home now, and the house is so empty and quiet.  Miss them so.  But what a great experience for al...

FATHER'S DAY PRAYER

Image
God our Father, in your wisdom and love you made all things. Bless those fathers who have taken upon themselves, the responsibility of parenting. Bless those who have lost a spouse to death ... or divorce who are parenting their children alone. Strengthen them by your love that they may be and become the loving, caring persons they are meant to be. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen Many times we think of single mother's raising children, but there are also many single father's raising children,....today we honor and pray for them, along with all the fathers this special day. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY.

JILL AND TRISTAN FOR A VISIT

Image
Jill and Tristan came to visit from Oregon.  Quite a road trip for them, covering over 800 miles.  But I think the road trip Tristan is enjoying at Grandma's is walking Molly.   And of course the pool.  Jill is our youngest daughter and Tristan our youngest grandchild ~ will be five this week.   "Floaties" are the best.  He can enjoy the pool without us worrying about him going under.  Trying to teach him to hold his breath. Jill is the daughter that was in the horrific car accident in 1989, when she was 18, and almost lost her life and right leg.  In the hospital for months with multiple surgeries and skin grafts.  As a result she has a stiff, scared and disfigured leg. She had written the first draft of a children's book about animals that have scars and hurts that make them look different, and how beauty comes from within,  She had been thinking about this for many years as she has "lived it" and now want's Tristan...

SCRIBBLE PICNIC ~ CLASSIC

Image
1957 Chevy Classic   I was a "50's" girl.  High School was 1956 -1959.  The movie "American Graffiti" had not been made...because we were living it! Yes, I'm one of the "oldies" I used permanent markers to fill in my penciled sketch. Those were the days, my friend, thought they would never end.  Bobby socks and poodle skirts.  Dragging 10th Street in Modesto in what today are the "classic" cars.   Who would have thought?? To see what all the other artist chose as "Classic" just click on the Scribble Picnic Badge on my sidebar.

THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY ~ HE KEEPS ME FROM FALLING

Image
Jude 1:24  "To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy ~~to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen!" But as for me, O Lord, my feet had almost slipped;  I had nearly lost my foothold....Yet, I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.  You guide me with your counsel, and afterwards you will take me to glory.  Whom have I in heaven but you?  The earth has nothing I desire besides you.  My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.  O Jesus my Savior, You alone keep me from falling.  You alone present me faultless before God ~ right now, and forevermore.  I love You.  Amen.  Maranatha Worship Bible googleimages.com

A LOVELY TEA PARTY

Image
Our Women's Bible Study ending our session with a most excellent Tea Party.  I took a hatbox of my tea cups to add to the party. Ann Hosted the tea party and she and her husband Jim, made the patio area just marvelous.   We had over 20 ladies there to enjoy the Tea.   The table settings were lovely.   The Dessert Bar ~ to die for!!!   Cookies and sweet treats   Very special cookies made by Becky ~ in the shape of perfume bottles with editable paper labels.   And I make lots of scones.  Apricot walnut, and Cranberry.  Also make some "mock" Devonshire Cream.  Yummy. Also plates of finger sandwiches, and lovely salads.  We will take a break for summer, and begin a new study in the Fall.   Wish you all could have been there. PS.  I have got myself organized again...so reactivated my fb account.  So see you there,  and see you here.
