GOT A MINUTE OR TWO

HAPPY TRICK OR TREAT DAY!  THIS IS MY LITTLE "TREAT"   HAPPY HALLOWEEN TRISTAN.   NOT SURE HOW MANY TRICK OR TREATERS WE WILL GET TONIGHT AT VILLA RAMONA.  BUT I'M READY!!

Loving all our adult children, and thinking about when our first was born.  Michel Kristine (1962)  What a blessing she has been in our lives.  I think I will share baby pictures of all of them on TBT. My dearest was so very young and handsome, don't you think?

  One thing about living in a Senior/Family complex, there is always something going on.  The staff put on a very fun Halloween Party for all the tenants.  This is one of the staff members, aka Little Red Riding Hood. Another staffer was a great Minnie Mouse.  Games were played the children were all in costumes and had a great parade and contest for the costumes. Don and I joined in the "mummy" contest, wrapping Don without breaking the toilet paper was impossible.  It was fun but we didn't even come in close.  I had Don going in circles...and he got dizzy so we stopped and enjoyed watching all the others.  Of course the kids won.  (smaller bodies to wrap...haha) After the fun and games...box after box of pizza, salad, chocolate chip cookies and cup cakes.   They really make this place a fun and active place for Seniors and Families. 

We celebrated our great grandson's sixth birthday at Joe's Crab Shack.  It was a very fun party and I just had to share our grandson Marc with his girlfriend Amanda, and a Steam Pot of crab and lobster.  The only tools...a shell cracker and a pick!!  Too much work for me ~but, Marc made it happen, and finished off the last piece.   I had fish and chips.  HaHa. Thanks for your thoughts and comments on my "Toothpaste" post.  New mercies every day.   I'm so glad.

When Martha was here visiting we found a Thrift Shop we had never been too.  It was big, and lots of things, so yesterday my dearest and I went "junking" there. He found a really cool cane (at our age you never know when you're going to need one..HaHa) and I found two pretty glass trays with poppies and another John Grisham book "Ford County" which takes you back to the location of his first book "A Time to Kill". We passed another Thrift Store on the way home, but didn't have time to stop...so another day, and another adventure into the junking world.

Creative Tuesday took a new twist that was a lot of fun.  The theme is "Found Object" ~ The idea is to find an object, lay it on a piece of paper and create a picture.  The possibilities are endless, but I chose a pair of finger cut gloves.  I laid the glove on my sketch pad. With my Prismacolor pencils I added fingers with nail polish.  I think it turned out pretty good.  This was quick and fun, and I know you'll be delighted with all the ideas other artists came up with.  To see them, just click on the CT badge on my sidebar.

Don and I have started to enjoy "bun~less" hamburgers as we cut carbs.  Believe it or not under all those good things, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and mushrooms is a sirloin burger patty.   Mayo, mustard and ketchup...of course but NO bun. On my way to Target, I saw a group of teenagers by the High School holding up car wash signs.  They did a great job and it was a reminder of all the car washes we were involved with when our kids were in school.  I bought my little Nissan Sentra new in 2000.  She still runs so good, and with a new paint job, looks good too. My dearest had lunch at MiMi's with a friend and brought me home a blueberry muffin.  What a thoughtful guy. We buy half and half by the half gallon, and I pour it into a smaller container, and refill as needed.  When we were up North I was in a local market, and they had Organic Half and Half from a local farmer in a darling little glass bottle.  Now I have a really cute contai...

When we were in Oregon we visited the Farmers Market and I bought several jars of jam.  The lady who makes them is Jean, and her label is "Jean's Jam".  She had Apricot, Balsamic Strawberry and Blueberry.  If you buy three, she packages them in a cute little wooden tray and ties it with a cord.  I bought some for the friends we stayed with. We visited a Thrift Store, and Jill found an Oreo Cookie Jar.  Isn't that the cutest. While we were at Sue's she sent a bag of pomegranates with us to Jill's.  They always look so pretty in a bowl. I spent the morning deep cleaning as dust seems to come visiting while you are on vacation.  Clean sheets on the bed, pilgrim sandwich for lunch, and now a trip to Target to find some sun glasses.  A good Saturday.

  We are missing Tristan...I guess you can call it "Tristan Withdrawal" A boy and his toys.  He has a room full but his favorites are the ones that play music.  He already has moves.  HaHa I love his little profile and his curls.   Early in the mornings, Tristan enjoyed his time with Grandpa and Molly.

Being the Queen of Drizzle, I bought a Cinnamon Drizzle Candle from Kirkland Home. Like Mother ~Like Daughter.  I had to laugh when Jill made banana bread and began to add drizzle. Jill even drizzles her Oatmeal cookies.  There were so good! I decided to put my White Pumpkin on the Balcony since I needed to add some Fall there. It seems only right, that my little Witch should be among the spiders!! So I hung her on my Spider Plant. I left "Freddie" alone in his bowl while we were gone.  I had added a 14 day Beta vacation feeder block.  It worked, as he was still in good shape when we got home.   First dinner at home was Tilapia, Quinoa brown rice, green beans with sauteed onions and bacon.  I'm using my fall dishes I got at the Dollar Store last year.   

It was so fun to visit the Pumpkin Patch I enjoyed for so many years up North.  This year I was glad our trip was in October so I could visit the patch and get some pictures.  They always display old tractors and scare crows and it makes for fun picture taking. I wanted a "White" Pumpkin to match my Fall decoration and knew they would have just the right one.  You can see I found it in my new banner. Had a wonderful "Sister Day" with Donna.  It had been too long and we are planning a Sister Weekend next Spring. The lunch at Applebee's was so good with a Shrimp Scampi dish and Cesar Salad with Chicken breast and bread stick....all for $7.99 We are home, unpacked, and ready to crawl into our own bed.  Praising the Lord for a wonderful trip and safe travels the whole way going and coming back.  God is good all the time, and then some!

  Saying goodbye was sad, leaving the Little Big Man.  It was a precious 2 weeks, but now we have left Oregon and the Coast and heading back to Southern CA.   The Harbor is literally walking distance from Jill's house and the smell of the ocean is one of my favorite smells.   Jaya caught 5 Salmon while we were there and we feasted on it several times. A couple of nights with dear friends where use to live, and a day with my sister then the drive home on Tuesday.  I've loved being with family and friends, but there is no place like home, and I'm looking forward to my own bed and Tree house. Looked for a new laptop in Oregon (so I wouldn't have to pay sales tax) but didn't find what I wanted, so that will be a project when I get home...Sharing Don's is great....but I want my own. HaHa.
