COMPUTER CRASH

Image
Oh dear....my laptop crashed...dead as a doornail.  I will be out of touch for a while.  Deciding the best route to getting a new one.  I'm on my dearest's now, but not familiar with his.  Just an update on the health issues.   Don's consultation with the Lung Specialists is December 15.  My kidney sonogram is Nov. 30 and my other test Dec 14th.  Should have my computer problems solved by then.   Again, thanks for all your love and prayers.

LITTLE DISHCLOTHS

Image
Trying to get a "jump" on Christmas by starting now to make a few little dishcloths to add to some Christmas Baskets I want to make for some friends and family.  Michael's had some nice colors that match the kitchens of the gals in my family.   Isn't this a lovely color? Health Update ~ We have an appointment on December 15th for Don's consultation with the lung specialists.  That is the earliest date they had open. I am waiting for a approval from the insurance for a kidney sonogram and I will be doing a 24 hr. urine test on December 13th, and blood work on the 14th. As always, your prayers and love are appreciated. The "Golden Years" are sure filled with doctor appointments!

THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY

OBSESSED WITH FORGIVENESS Ephesians 4:30-32  "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.  Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.  Be kind and compassionate to one another forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you." Colossians 3:13  "Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Last Sunday we shared Communion in our Worship Service.  It was a powerful message on forgiveness.  II Corinthians tells us to examine our hearts before taking communion and Pastor share how we can tell if we have a sensitive heart.  Are we sensitive to our own sin?  To the Spirit's leading?  Are we sympathetic to sinners and saints? If we are so aware of God's forgiveness ~~then we will be obsessed with forgiving others!  Ouch!  Tha...

CANDLES, COFFEE AND SOLITUDE

Image
Every morning, before putting in my hearing aids, I light the candles on our coffee table and sit sipping that piping hot coffee.  It's my time for silence, solitude and prayer.  When I don't start my day like this.....I can tell the difference!!  (The noise you hear in the background is the TV in the other room where my dearest is...but remember, I don't have my hearing aids on, so it was silence for me..HaHa)  I was surprised when I played the video of the noise. But after my quiet time, it's off to do the tasks of the day.  The ladies in my Tuesday morning Bible Study group are doing the "Sharing Plate".  A plate that has no home, because it keeps getting shared and passed on.  Last week my Bible study leader, Jessica, gave me the plate filled with yummy chocolate cookies.  Last night I passed it on with scones (white chocolate, apricot, cherry, walnut with drizzle).  Wonder who will get it next?  Have you every ...

PREMEDITATED KINDNESS

Image
One good deed is worth more than a thousand brilliant theories.  Don't wait for greater opportunities or for a different kind of work.  Just do the things you find to do day by day ..... Do it promptly.  Do not waste your life thinking about what you intend to do tomorrow.  No one ever served God by doing things tomorrow.  If we honor Christ and are blessed.  It is with the things we do today.                                                                                  ~~Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) Dear Lord, we know evil is premedita...
