GOT A MINUTE OR TWO

Beautiful little blooms ~ the birds are singing I got a Keuric one cup coffee maker for Christmas I love this little corner of my kitchen!

THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY Psalm 1:1,2 "Blessed is the one...whose delight in in the  Law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night." There are two kinds of ducks:  puddle ducks and divers.  Puddle ducks such as mallards and redheads, simply paddle around the edges of marshes and ponds and feed in the shallow water.  They eat only what they can reach from the surface.  Diver ducks, however are able to dive to surprising depths in a lake to feed from the plants at its bottom.  Mergansers and canvasbacks are typical of this group, some of which can dive to depths of one hundred fifty feet for their food. How do I read my Bible?  Am I like the puddle duck, staying near the surface with the nourishment found in the shallows?  Or am I a diver, following the example of the Psalmist, we plunge deeply into the Word through study, refection and meditation "day and night". About 3:30 this morning I woke up and was thinking Quiche sounded good.  While I laid there, I was putting together in my mind what I had in the refrigerator that could translate into Quiche.  I didn't have any leftover pie crust, and really didn't want to start from scratch, so decided on just a crustless veggie egg casserole in a pie dish!  Then I remembered I had some flour totillas and thought I'll just put one of those in the bottom of the pie dish.  Then I went back to sleep ~ zzzzzzzzzz When I got up this morning, I was still in the mood!  So a cup of ham, a yellow squash, green onions and cheese.  A little later, my dearest and I had a delicious breakfast dish.  The totilla in the bottom of the plate made a nice thin crust.  Who would have thought!! Hope you are having a good Saturday.  Was up early, took a shower and took Molly for a walk.  Good start!  Now off to do a couple loads of laundry.

Do you have "junk" drawers?  Does someone come in the night and stuff them full of things you don't need or want?  My mother was a stickler for organized drawers, and I guess I caught it from her. I do like organized drawers, but some how they end up with more that I planned to put in them.  Today while I was waiting for some scones to come out of the oven I cleaned out two drawers.  It took less than 10 minutes and I have two clean organized drawers~ ONE DRAWER AT A TIME. Amazing what you can get done while waiting for the water to boil, or oven to heat....Thanks Mom...you've been gone a long time, but your reminders help me every day! What's in your drawers....hahaha

The past week has been rainy and cold.  Soup weather.  I had the ham bone from Christmas in the freezer and a bag of split peas.  Got a good recipe on line.  Onions, carrots, celery, garlic, and that good broth from the ham bone.  Nice chunks of ham, some seasoning and a delicious bowl of soup for dinner. My neighbor is trying all kinds of bread with her new bread maker and oven stone.  I told her I was making soup, and she offered to bring the bread.   Her garlic/butter bread sticks were the perfect side. We had our consultation with the Lung specialists and the fluid from my dearest's lung linging showed no cancer.  That is really good news.  She is waiting for one more test, which will most likely confirm what we have suspected. CHF.  Thank the Lord that is treatable, and as of February 1st we will have a new primary doctor, and a new cardiologist that has been highly recommended.  I truly believe 2019 is going to prove...

God is so good in so many ways.  First of all my dearest had the procedure and they drained 750mi of fluid.  We have an appointment next week to see the results of the biopsy and analysis of the fluid.  In the meantime, we will have a new cardiologist as of February 1st that has been highly recommended.  After all these lung tests, it seems more likely it's related to his heart.  He is feeling better and can breathe better with that fluid gone.  Looking forward to the new doctor and some real answers. This picture was taken about a month ago when our grandson, Kaleb was pinned for getting his RN.  We are very proud of him.  Will nice to have a nurse in the family. As you can see, my computer is up and running better than ever, thanks to another grandchild.  These young people are so smart.  I'm excited to get back into  my routine of blogging and especially being able to visit all of you faithful friends that have kept us in...
