THE LOVE LETTERS
I wanted to begin 2025 with a Love Story. My new header and the above watercolor is the "Love Letters" of my parents back in the 1930's. We had always heard about the "love letters" but had never seen them. My Dad passed away at 57, leaving my mother a widow at 54. I remember thinking at the time they had been married a long time. However, now at 83, and being married 63 years, I realize she was so young when she lost my dad. Back to the love letters. My mom never remarried or even dated. She devoted the rest of her life to her children and grandchildren. When she passed away at 79 my sister and I began sifting through her things. We found the love letters just as you see pictured above. The ones my dad wrote my mom were in pristine condition with a blue ribon. The letters my mother had written dad had been carried in his dirty overalls, read and reread time after time and they were dirty, tatterd and torn, wrapped with a piec...
