TURN OUT THE LIGHTS
Sing it Willie ~ "Turn Out the Lights ~ the Party's Over". Willie Nelson's country song couldn't have been truer that yesterday afternoon. About 4:30 PM our oven dinner of crusted pork chops and sweet potatoes were just beginning to cook for dinner at 5 PM. When all of a sudden the black clouds that had been threatening all day broke loose. Cracks of lighting, booms of thunder and then "power out". This has happened before so I expected the lights and oven to come back on momentarily. It was not to be. The lighting hit a power pole and about 6 blocks around us were out of power. At 4:30 PM I wasn't too worried, lights should be back on soon. Well by 6:30 PM half cooked pork chops, hard sweet potatoes and no power, we started scrambling for candles and my oil lamp. Since there was no way to complete the oven dinner. Don had a sandwich, and I opted for a healthy scone (haha) Wanted a cup of coffee...sorry no power. We lis...
