GOT A MINUTE OR TWO

Made a decision on Ash Wednesday to "step back" and take a little Blog Break. I won't be on facebook either as I deleted my account.   I wanted some quality time thinking, reading and praying my way through the "Path of His Passion". Be back after Easter!   HEALING OR GRACE I was looking at my Maranatha Worship Bible for a text for my Thoughts for Sunday.  I happened on a page that brought back memories of 2009 and my cancer journey. When I got the results of the biopsy it was not so much a shock as I have always been aware of my family history of cancer.   But my dearest was devistated when we got the call that it was indeed cancer.  At that time we didn't know what stage but, I remembering going to the Lord and this is what I wrote in my Bible on that date of March 9, 2009. "My responsibilty is to BELIEVE AND TRUST.  My relationship with my Lord is not based on my faithfulness but HIS.  Lord, I accept whatever you have in store for me.  A miracle of healing or a miracle of grace." It was truly a journey of healing and grace.  It's always good to remember that God will never let go.  His faithfulness endures forever.  When you hope in the Lord you will never be dissapointed.   Egg over easy, bacon, hashbrowns (made with Japanese sweet potatoes) toast with straberry jam. (My dearest's favorite)  Sometimes we have it for dinner. Sometimes I prefer a cup of coffee and a triple berry scone. We both like cabbage and pullled pork, but to go easy on the bread we just make it a meal by adding some carrots. Made some butternut squash soup and it was delicious.  First time to make it and it wasn't as difficult as I thought.  A little time consuming, but then I've got a lot of that, HaHa. Topped it off with some green onions and parmasan cheese. Our daughter bought some chowmein noodles and vegetables at Costo in the frozen section and gave me a couple of the packages.  Had it with some crusted salmon and it was delicious and easy. A standard for lunch is either chicken salad or tuna salad.  And my dearest has to have a side of sliced pickled beets and a dill pickle. What is your favorite breakfast, lunch and dinner?

  "Go Away ~ I'm Reading" I had 4 bags of "stuff" to drop off at the Thrift Store and they were filling up the end of the living room.  This morning I decided to just get them out of my way and take a trip to the Thrift store, telling myself, I would just drop off, I don't need anything!!!hahaha But then I saw this cup!!  I really thought it would be perfect for my morning reading!! In fact, I thought it should have a place in my Library basket! This little dish look like a perfect holder for chips when we have Taco Night for two. This will be a new addition to my Coffee Station! I can't remember the last time I went "junking".  It was FUN!

Love Letters, googleimages.com   Holy and Loving Father, what could be better than this old hymn to show our love for you on this Valentine Day.  Your Holy Word is your "love letter" to us.  It tells us everything we need to know about You and how to live our lives.  Thank You for your LOVE, thank You for your WORD.  Thank You for sending your precious and only Son to pay the penalty for our sins.  May we show you our LOVE by our obedience this day and every day.  I love You.  Amen.

Does anyone remember "Blue Leisure Suites".  A friend downloaded some pictures from an old hard drive computer and it was hard to believe we thought this was "cool".  HaHa.  Don was the pastor of Bell Gardens Baptist Church at this time in the 70's.  Not only blue, but plaid!  I guess it was just a "blue" day as I'm decked out in blue, and that's our daughter in the "blue" car behind us!   Talk about old!!  This week I received a letter from my cousin who was going through some old boxes that belonged to her mother.  She found my "baby announcement"  May 1, 1941.  Can you believe that.  That little announcement is almost 80 years old.  It gave my weight, 7lbs 12oz and my name.  My middle name is Mae, for being born on May Day. I have a bin in our storage unit full of old pictures.  I really need to go through them and put some names and dates.   It's not very helpful many years down the road to see on t...

  Lamentations 3:22-25 "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassion never fails.   They are new every morning;  great is your faithfulness.  I say to myself, the Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait on him. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him." Heavenly Father, You Word tells us we will have daily troubles, but not to dispair, along with the daily troubles, you have given us  daily mercies.   They are new every morning.  Thank You for meeting our daily needs.  Help us to take one day at a time, receiving you mercies to deal with the troubles of the day.  Help us to look beyond our troubles and reach out to those who have hurts and needs and share this good news.   I love You.  Amen.   Every year, the tree outside our balcony blooms.  It seems to happen overnight! It's beautiful and dresses the balcony in a lovely bridal gown.  The bee's love it, and you can see them busy buzzing and gathering nectar.  They are so busy working, they don't bother to come on the balcony, so we sit and watch them. But just as fast as the blooms come....they are gone.  By the weekend it will look like snow on the grass of the playground.  It's the closest thing to snow we get.  So we enjoy the beauty while it's lasts. I've finished all the books I had in my basket library, with the exception of the One Year Bible I read daily.  The last one I finished was on the "Parables" by Gary Inrig (Understanding what Jesus Meant) and it was well worth the read.  It did bring a new understanding and appreciation of the stories Jesus loved to tell.   A new month, and a new determination to be a better blogger!  I don't know what happened to January, but it came and went...and I only found time to post on Sunday's.  But with some new decorations for February and Valentines Day, I getting motivated again!! I love the softness of adding pinks to my already reds!   I love this painting by Vladimir.  It just says "February and Love". I added some new dishtowels and my Welcome Heart Sign. I put away my Christmas Candles and brought out my pink ones to soften my coffee table from Christmas to Valntine's Day.  I was in Marshals and saw this adorable little bunny with his carrot, and he jumped in my cart.  So it's a little early for Easter...but he doesn't care, and neither do I.  HaHa.  The picture in the rose frame is my dearst and I many years ago at the beach.
