TAHOE ON THE HORIZON

Image
Leaving Friday morning for our annual week in Tahoe!  So looking forward to this trip as we will visit family coming and going and also see some good friends. I plan on taking my camera and computer, so I can share some of the sights and sounds of Tahoe.

SIMPLE THINGS

Image
I have been wanting a "hook" to hang my aprons on!  The other day at the Thrift Store I spotted this hook.  The picture of a child and a dog and the word "friendship".  It came home with me!   I decided to hang it out of the way, but easy to get too.  My Kitty apron is peeking out..do you see it? I really like this little corner in my kitchen! Simple things..that should be the way we live life!

THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY

Image
I Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." Dear Lord, so many times I tell myself I don't know your will, that I feel lost, and then I see a verse in your Word that so clearly states You will for ME.   You want me to rejoice always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances.  This is Your will for Me...and I want an easier path.  But what peace, joy and freedom come from being obedient to these three things.   Hard, but not impossible, because the indwelling Holy Spirit, our Helper gives me the grace and power to be obedient, and KNOW I'm pleasing you as I do Your will!  Lord no matter what comes into  my life, help me to rejoice always, pray continually, and give You thanks in all circumstances.  I love You.  Amen.

FLOWERS, BAKING, AND CLEAN SHEETS

After three days of baking for the Villa Ramona Fund Raiser Bake Sale I needed to sit down, put my feet up, and enjoy a fresh bouquet from Trader Joe's. I really need to learn to say "NO" but it doesn't come easy for me.  As I've been a "Yes, I'd love too" person for way too many years.  My last "Yes, I'd love too" came as the Baker for our Bake Sale Fund Raiser for the Villa. Since it seems I am the only one who bakes in the Villa, I said I would do the baking if they would supply all the ingredients.  Little did I know how many orders would be put in for Banana Bread, Cookies, and Scones The Bake Sale Fund raiser was on Monday, so I spent Saturday, Sunday afternoon and Monday morning in the Kitchen!!!!! Packaged, labeled and ready to take down to the Clubhouse was 15 loaves of banana bread, 20 dozen cookies (choc. chip, oatmeal, and peanut butter) and 4 plates of scones.   Monday night, when all was said and d...

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

Image
Having our granddaughter, Monique and her hubby, Eddie worship with us at Church.   Celebrating Eddie's graduation (belated) and both of our Anniversaries (in June).  This was the first time we had the chance to get together for these celebrations.  We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Red Lobster. Today we began our new Women's Bible Study class.  Our leader, Jessica makes our packets so attractive.  A folder with a schedule of all the lessons and when we will have our potlucks.  A beautiful journal to keep notes and prayer requests, and our study books on I and II Thessalonians.  Even a cute little book marker!! How is your week going?

CHANGES PLACES

Image
It was amazing how quickly I got out of my "blog funk" when I changed places with my laptop.  My dearest and I share the "media" room as we call it.  Both of our desks and computers, the TV, the radio, his recliner and my rocking chair, and of course one of Molly's beds. (She's spoiled ~ one in the media room one in the bedroom.) Usually the TV is on and we are both on our computers, so their is voices and noise and I think I just lost interest in try to concentrate.  When I decided to spend some time on the balcony with my computer, it brought a whole new perspective!!!     We hung our Flags to remember 911 and pray we never have to see that happen on our soil again.  Many tributes and ceremonies will recall that day, and the brave men and women who were the first responders. Prayers and love will be offered to all the families that still feel the loss of that day. I took a little "day trip" by myself to Monrovia.  A visit to Mimi...
