GOT A MINUTE OR TWO

One of the dear ladies in my Women's Bible Study made me this darling tote bage for my Bible Study books and Bible.  We have become really close and enjoy each others friendship.  She lost her husband last year to a heart attack.  I just love her thoughtfulness in making this for me.  I made the mistake of admiring hers, and she went home and made mine!! Quiche, Quiche, Quiche!!! Sheeh!  Is she posting Quiche AGAIN!!! Yes, I am because I have it every morning for breakfast, and I keep trying new things to make it different.  This one has sweet itialian sausage, mild diced chilies, zuchinni and onion!!! Wow, quiche with a Mexican twist!  We love it!!! I thought I would show you a picture of my exercise machine! I use it several times a day getting up and down from our Treehouse! Jeremiah 29:13 "And you will seek me and find me, when you search for Me with all your heart." Dear Lord ~ being close to you and knowing you is one of our deepest desires.  But it dosn't come easy.  There is a cost.  To find you and have a personal intimate relationship takes work.  Seeking is not easy.  Lord I misplace my keys or my glasses, and I search and seek diligently until they are found.  Oh, dear Savior, why don't I use that kind of energy to seek and search for You with all my heart?  Because it takes diligence...work, digging deep into your Word.  Studying it, meditate on it, ponder it.  But I know from experience, when I put in the work, seeking and searcing for You with all of my heart, I find You.  You were there all the time, but You needed me to learn obedience.  Thank You for your constance presence, when I follow your road map.  I love you dearly and deeply.  Amen. Had a delightful visit the other day from our grandson, Kaleb.  Has completed his long studies, and now holds the title of Registered Nurse!  So proud of this young man. He work so hard studying that over the past few years, we don't really get to vist but short litle ones.  He call last week and said he'd like to come over for a "real visit".  We couldn't have been happier. I fixed him a nice big breakfast and made a batch of cookies for him to take with him, and  for the next several hours just got to catch up on his life and share ours. Is there anything more rewarding that to see your grandchildren do well and achieve their goals.

2 Samuel 22:31 "As for God, His way is perfect. The word of the Lord is proven. He is a shield to all who trust in Him" Dear Heavely Father, Gracious and Merciful God how could we lift our souls to another?  Father, make this verse very real in our hearts.  We know your way is perfect, help us to stay in the "way" and not stray. Father, your Word is proven over and over again.  Not just for us, but throughout history.  Every generation has seen that Your word is true and does just what it says. Your protection, Your shield is ours by child like faith, trusting You with our lives, our family, friends, and daily choices.  That shield also protects us from those fiirey darts Satan would love to defeat us with.   Lord, You are Good, Holy, Righteous, Truth, Love, Merciful.....How could we lift our hearts to another?  You are the One and Only God and Savior.  I love You.  Amen. The day after Christmas a decision was made.  It was time to lose a few pounds the "HEALTHY WAY".   So I started my own regiment and have stayed on it, and as of today, have lost 16 pounds.  It feels so good.   Actually, it turned out to be easier than I thought it would be, since I'm a "stress"eater, have a love for snacking, and have a very large "sweet tooth". This is what I've done.  For any meal, I use a SMALL plate and that has cut my portion size in half.   I make sure I have some breakfast and have been making my crustless quiche filled with vegetable, a little bacon or ham and eggs.  A cup cup of coffee w/cream. For lunch I have been having tuna or chicken salad filled with celery, boiled egg, chopped apple, dried cranberries and walnuts.  I usually put that in a lettuce leaf.  My favorite time of day 3:00 pm.  I treat myself to a cup of coffee and either ONE cookie, or scone, or small slice of banana bread or fruitcak...

This was our memory verse this week in my women's Bible study.  I've been meditating on it all week.  A wonderful verse with much responsibility. 2 Corinthians 5:20,21  "Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us:  we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For he made him to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness in him." Dear Lord, it's overwhelming to me that You would choose to "plead through me" but that is what Your Word says.  Because we are your ambassadors we do it on Your behalf.  Give me the courage to implore people as though it were You, to be reconciled to God.   What a duty, what a priviledge!  Lord help me to be a faithful ambassador in this awesome task.  I love You.  Amen I have some new updates on my dearest that are a gift from God and also a really good report on my health.  It's been a crazy week with appointments with the new primary...

Ray Stevens is generally given credit for writing the phrase "There is none so blind as he who will not see", a line from the song "Everything is Beautiful."  But preacher Matthew Henry used the phrase 250 years go when commenting on the lyrics of another songwriter Asaph (Psalms 82:2-3. Asaph's lyrics re not as upbeat as Stevens'.  His song was a rebuke to the Israelites for failing to fulfill their God-given purpose. In his comentary on Psalm 82, Henry wrote: "A gift in secret blinds their eyes.  They know not because they will not understand.  None so blind as those who will not see.  They have baffled their own connsciences, and so they walk in darkness." Those who have eyes that see what God sees find ways to help the helpless. Do I have eyes to see?  And a heart to care?
