BBQ SUCCESS!
Remember my BBQ disaster trying to make cookies when my oven when out? After throwing out the hockey pucks (cookies) I thought I'd never try baking in the BBQ again. However, one of our dear blogger friends gave me a solution. Only light one side, and keep it on low or med. Bake on the opposite side of the grill. We had the Gas Company come out and check my oven, and the oven igniter is going out. Our appointment with them was just days before we left on the trip, so decided to wait until we got home to put in a new igniter. But I wanted cornbread with our dinner tonight, so thought I'd be brave and try the advice of my friend. I lit the left side of the BBQ on medium and put my cornbread batter in a buttered cast iron skillet on the right side. Twenty minutes later I had a pan of perfect cornbread. So thanks for the advice...it worked. Done any experimenting lately?
