MEMORIES AND FOOD

A very productive day.  Sorted through all my Christmas decorations, and got four bins down to two.  Lots of "stuff" I didn't even use the last few years, so it will be at the yard sale.  Three bins of Fall decorations down to two, and one bin for Spring/Easter and one bin for all my "red" kitchen stuff. While going through some boxes Don found this picture of my mother and the motto she lived by.  I took it out of the box and put it on my desk along with the little plaque with her motto.  "Only one day will soon be past ~~Only what's done for Christ will last". Thinking about my mom, and missing her I couldn't help but think of one of her favorite meals to fix, and growing up we had meatloaf and scalloped potatoes once a week.  She made a sweet sauce of ketchup, mustard and brown sugar for the top.  I only had small red potatoes, but washed and sliced with the peeling, a little butter, flour, milk, and topped with bacon and cheese.  M...
