FORGIVENESS ~ A Message from my Dearest

Image
“ Your sins are forgiven.” Luke 7:-48 (ESV) Ephesians 1:7 (NLT) 7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. Gracious Heavenly Father what joy fills my heart because of the greatest gift of Christmas, the forgiveness of my sins. This priceless gift is for all who will believe in your Son, Jesus. This infinite gift of forgiveness cost the very life of our Savior. " 18 For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. 19 It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God." 1 Peter 1:18-19 (NLT) Father I so identify with the Psalmist David: " 1 How joyful is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered! 2 How joyful is a person whom the LORD does not charge with iniquity...." Psalm 32:1-2 (CSBBible) Thank Father for the joy of Christmas and the greatest...

Such fun!  We made my Mom's English Toffee, Peanut Butter Krackle, and Kitchen Sink cookies! Amanda and me stiring the toffee! Dispite Covid, health issues and just plain getting old, this could be our best Christmas Ever! Celebrating Christ the Lord, our Savior and the true meaning of Christmas!

Looking forward to Saturday ~ Our "Second Annual Bake Day" with my daughters and granddaughters. Last year we made my mom's English Toffee.  This year will be a variety of goodies. I made a batch of "Kitchen Sink" cookies today and a batch of cookie dough in the freezer to share on Saturday. If you like "Sweet and Salty" you will love these cookies.  Full of crunch and texture. Pretzels, kettle potato chips, walnuts, white and dark chocolate chips.   Looking forward to spending Christmas Eve with daughter Julie and her family.  Christmas Morning with daughter Michel and her family, and Christmas Day with son, Myk and his family.  God is so good and gracious to us,  My dearest is able to make the trips and enjoy yet another Christmas at 84. Bless the Lord, O my soul And all that is within me Bless His Holy Name!

ONE SIZE DOESN'T FIT ALL

Image
A message from my Dearest Just turned 84 years old. What I have learned in those 30,660 days is that no day is identical to the other. All though similar yet each having shades of difference. Though one day or size doesn't fit all, one word does, and that word is GRACE. John 1:14 & 16 (ESV) "14 ...... the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth......16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace." Heavenly Father, when I think of the infinite abundance of your grace given to us through your Son, I am in awe of you and truly amazed at the unlimited richness of your grace. As the Scriptures say: " Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning." Lamentations 3:23 (NLT) Each day Father your grace uniquely fills our lives appropriately with what we need for that day, be it spiritual or material. As you said to the Apostle Pa...

CHRISTMAS ~ WEEK TWO

Image
God became man:  the divine Son became a Jew; the Almighty appeared on earth as a helpless human baby, unable to do more than lie and stare and wriggle and make noises, needing to be fed and changed and taught to talk like any other child.  And there was no illusion or deception in this:  the boyhood of the Son of God was a reality.  The more you think about it, the more staggering it gets.  Nothing in fiction is so fantastic as is thid truth of the incarnation.     ~J.I Packer (1926) Angles sing over fields of light, There is born tonight A Son, a Savior Joyful tidings are on the wing; A newborn King A Son, a Savior Find this Christ, and share the joy Of Mary's boy A Son, A Savior There's redemption within His hand For every man Heaven sent us a Savior The Father has give a Son. ~Bill Barstone 1988 Heavenly Father, help us to meditate on these truths and fill our hearts and lives with the joy of knowing and loving You. the Son of God and S...

MY CHRISTMAS MOTTO

Image
LOVE this Kitchen Christmas dish towel!  Made a couple of loaves of "Eggnog Bread".  The bread turned out really nice.  Lovely loaves, but you really can't taste the eggnog.  If I make it again, I will adjust the amount of eggnog, and add an extra tablespoon rum extract.  I did put a glaze on it using eggnog in the powdered sugar and a teaspoon of rum extract.  Somehow the first loaf disappeared pretty fast.  So I guess it was a success afterall!

CHRISTMAS ~ WEEK ONE

Image
Men overlooked a baby's birth When love unnoticed came to earth; And later, seeking in the skies, Passed by a man in workman's guise, Only children passed to stare, While God Incarnate made a chair. ~Mary Tatlow Come, Thou long expected Jesus, Born to set Thy people free; From our sins and fears release us; Let us find our rest in Thee. Israel's strength and consolation,  Hope of all the earth Thou art; Dear Desire of every nation, Joy of every longing heart. Amen! ~Charles Wesley (1744)

HO HO HO

An early Christmas present to ourselves, new mattress, box springs and bedding.  Our daughter thought we should have Christmas sheets and HoHoHo pillows.  I liked the Christmas Throw I found a Macy's with alll the Festive mugs! We have our Annual Inspection at Villa Ramona today, so I didn't take down all the Fall Decor.  That will be my project for the next few days.  Looking forward to the rest of the house in the Christmas Spirit! My computer has been down for several weeks, so I have missed visiting all of you.  Thankfully our daughter solved the problem and I'm back on line. May I be the first to wish you a  MERRY CHRISTMAS!
