PICK UP A PENNY Picture from googleimages.com The speaker approached the podium. She ask us to reach down like we were going to pick up a penny off the floor. The group of women, of which I was a part, did as we were asked. Just as all of us were bent over almost to the floor, she ask us to remain in that position while she read the Scripture. What an odd request, but before we could straighten she began: "On the Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, 'Woman, you are free from your infirmity.' Then he put his hands on her and immediately she straighten up and praised God."
