MONDAY AND TUESDAY MICE
"This is the way we wash our clothes, wash our clothes, wash our clothes" Did you ever sing that little diddy? Years ago my daughter gave me a set of ceramic mice depicting the daily chores that we lived by. (Thanks to my dear organized mother) They were the inspiration for the paintings. I have memories of doing laundry with my mom on Monday's before I was old enough to be in school. We had an old ringer washer and hung the clothes on the clothes line in the back yard with wooden clothes pins. She hung everything in such an orderly fashion. My dad's work clothes on the back line so they could not be seen. Also the "underwear" was on those back lines. HaHa. Towels were hung by size, and kitchen towels and cloth napkins too. Things to be sprinkled and ironed the next day, had there place, and the long sheets and pillowcases filled a couple of lines. It was a work of art, my mom's clothesline. Now we throw them ...
