THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY

Image
Geneses 2:7  "The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul." Dear Lord, when you formed man in Your image out of the dust of the ground, You were building a temple.  And as a creature of the dust, I too am a temple.  You have placed my name above the door and now You stand at the door and knock, waiting for me to invite You in.  Lord of heaven, come and be the Lord of this piece of earth.  Come and fill this temple with the living breath of Your Holy Spirit.  Make it a place of worship.  Find Your rest within its walls.  Be enthroned on my praises.  I love You.  Amen. googleimages.com

A VERY SAD DAY

Image
Last Sunday was a very sad day.  I shared in a post a while back that Molly was going blind.   I won't go into the details, as it is painful, but in the past few weeks she went down hill very fast and we knew it was time.  She would have turned 15 on July 30. Molly was a joy and a blessing for all those years and traveled with us everywhere.  She love Tahoe, and she enjoyed being with Dave and Sue in Sacramento.  She loved staying with my cousin in Fresno when we couldn't take her with us.  They have a big chocolate lab named CoCo and they were best friends. My cousin has a RV at Pismo Beach and this is Molly and CoCo heading to the beach!  These pictures of Molly were taken a couple years ago when she was is excellent health. CoCo and Molly taking a nap together.   We will miss her dearly, and thank the Lord for creating animals for the love and pleasure they give us.   They teach us much about life, patience and death.

THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY

Image
MY HEART IS FILLED WITH A THOUSAND SONGS Lord You're calling me to come And behold the wondrous cross, To explore the depths of grace That came to me at such a cost; Where Your boundless love Conquered my boundless sin And mercy's arms were opened wide. My heart is filled with a thousand songs Proclaiming the glories of Calvary With every breath, Lord how I long To sing of Jesus who died for me Lord take me deeper Into the glories of Calvary. My heart is filled with a thousand songs, I love You.  Amen

THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY

Image
Can you imagine the pain and suffering of bleeding for twelve years.  And more than the pain and suffering, but her whole income spent on doctors to no avail.   But probably the worst, was to be considered "unclean" for twelve years.  Not able to go to the Temple to pray for hear the teachers of the Word.  She was an outcast, poor and alone!. She heard about a Prophet named Jesus who was healing the lame, the blind and demon possessed.  She longed to meet Him to have him heal her.  But the crowds, they pushed and shoved as they followed him to the house of a ruler who's daughter had died.   She thought if only I could tough the edge of his cloak, I will be healed.  She pushed forward keeping her face covered with her shawl.  Then she was behind him.  Did she dare!!   Reaching out, she did the unthinkable...she touched the hem of his cloak and immediately felt the bleeding stop!!   Jesus turned and saw her.  "Take ...

LOVE LETTERS

Image
Love Letters ~ We had heard about our parents love letters but had never laid eyes on them.  They were written sometime around 1929 to 1930.  They covered a years time. My Dad passed away at 58 and mother never remarried, or even dated.  She always said she was a One Man woman!  Mother lived to be 79 and after her passing, my sister and I went through her things.  Tucked in the bottom of a drawer under some clothes were the "Love Letters". The ones my dad wrote to mom were in pristine condition tied with a ribbon and pressed flower.  The ones my mom wrote to my dad were dirty, smudge, ragged edges, almost falling apart.  We figured it was because he carried them in his overhauls, with dirty hand out plowing and would pause to catch his breath and read, and re-read them. We sat for a long time reading them back and forth.  Almost feeling guilty for seeing something so intimate from our parents that we never knew.  We never see our ...

BIRTHDAY BREAKFAST

Image
Tristan is six today!  His mom fixed him a birthday breakfast fit for a King.  Six candles shinning bright! With one big blow the candles are out, and what is that looking at you? He loves pancakes!  And his mom is master in making all kinds of animals!  Isn't this pig adorable! The theme for his party is "Sharks" and this is the cutest pinata to add to the party.  Today was breakfast and shopping with his birthday money.  But Saturday is his big party with all his friends, a  BBQ and one of those big jumping booths!  Wish Oregon was a little closer!  But we get to see them in July and I'm so looking forward to that.

HILDAGARD'S GIFT

Image
A few days ago when posting about Molly I mentioned our first Shih Tzu, Hildagard.  Some of  you have probably experienced a child bringing home a dog or cat....and you couldn't say NO, so it stayed.  Such was Hildy.  Someone with a litter of pups gave Jill this one, (she was the runt) and it seemed no one wanted her. She hardly left the house unless she was in the back  yard or on a leash....but one day I began to notice she was gaining weight!  Yep! She was with pups!  She had a littler of 8 but since we had no idea who the father was they were not pure Shih Tzu.  They were cute and we didn't have any trouble giving them homes. Fast forward 8 years.  We were on a trip to Southern CA (we lived up North at the time) and of course Hildy went everywhere we went.  By this time she was almost completely blind and had a few other minor health issues.  When we started home, I called her as she was under a lawn chair on our daughter...

HAPPY CAMPER

Image
Had my annual physical last week and the weight I've lost, and the regular exercise I'm doing has paid off. Dr. Estrada told me all my numbers are excellent and he's very proud of my weight loss and exercise discipline.  In fact he said as I was leaving,  "You can hold your head up high when you walk out of this office"  So I did ~~ HaHa. PS.  I have to give Molly some of the credit.  Don and I used to share the responsibility of walking Molly.  But since his health issues, I've taken over.  That means walking 4 to 5 times a day and at least one of those times she feels like running....so I run to keep up with her.  If I wasn't walking Molly every day, I think I would get lazy and not do as much walking.  Of course every time we go, that means up and down those 15 stairs!! PS ~ since I wrote this post last week, my dearest has carried Molly down twice.  PTL he is getting back to his old self!!!

NO STAIRS, PLEASE!

Image
Click to enlarge Molly will be 15 the end of July.  She is in exceptional condition except her eyes!  Like many Shih Tzu's they tend to go blind.  Molly can still see really good, but looking down the stairs has become scary for her.  She missed a step and fell down a step and since then she refuses to go down.  But she scurries up them like a bunny rabbit!! That's OK Molly Girl, I will carry you down.  She knows her way around the complex and doesn't have any trouble getting around it or in our house, but those stairs are just to many and too scary. At her age, I can't see thousands of dollars for eye surgery.  We will just take it one day at a time with her too.  Our other Shih Tzu, Hildagard (Hildy) that we had many years ago, also went completely blind, but she had other health issues and we had to do what we all hate when she was nine.  We have a wonderful story about Hildy ~ And I will share it in another post soon. Pets are part of...

OUR LITTLE FISHERMAN

Image
Tristan, like is Dad is a great fisherman.  He has a great teacher! He caught a rainbow trout in a Fishing Tournament for kids.  He knows how to clip and take it off the line.  Smart boy!! A real fisherman, catches a fish, cleans it, and cooks it! Here is one "Happy Fisherman" Congratulations Tristan.  Wish me and Grandpa could have watched you catch that fish and then shared in the delicious meal. They plan a trip down in July...I can't wait!  Tristan will be six this month.

UPDATE FROM NURSE WANDA

Image
Just wanted you to know my patient is doing well!  In the Lord's good timing, and according to HIS plan, my dearest has turned the corner and we are praising the Lord for this good news. I won't go into the details, but it looks like if everything continues as it is he will be released from the Urologist Tuesday. This means he can get back on the blood thinner that is needed for the stint what was put in last April.  This is really good news.  Now we can look forward to getting the new pacemaker in October. You have all been so faithful in your love, concern and prayers.  We both thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I feel some new blog posts coming.....I've missed posting and visiting all of you!
