Random Acts of Kindness this week, all involved "Food"...Is that a surprise! Since I camp in the kitchen it seems that's the opportunities that come my way. This first picture is actually my dearest's RAK. We have an older man that lives in his van around the corner from our complex. We have talked to him several times. Well his van was impounded as he didn't have current tags and no money to get them. Don came in an ask me to make him a plate for dinner. We had already finished dinner, so a sandwich, cookies, banana and water was much appreciated by this gentleman.
One of our friends from our former church had knee surgery, so today we paid them a visit and we took a tray of pulled pork, cold slaw, fresh fruit and berry cobbler.
A plate of scones with pink drizzle for Valentines Day for our neighbor in Sunland with the Meyer Lemon tree. She got the scones, we got the lemons...So she did a RAK too.
I'm linking with Betsy as she is hosting the RAK for the next few Fridays. Check it out and join with us. Let's spread the kindness around.

Ahhhh...food is one of my go to ways to get straight to the heart, and of course, tend to wants and needs. :) You did good, Wanda. I don't make mention of the charities I support, and there are just a few, but one is The Greater Area Chicago Food Depository. Just a few dollars will buy lunch for a school child, and the staggering amount of children in our schools that have not only gone without breakfast, but have no lunch...I want to cry. And the homeless, people in shelters, people without jobs...the list goes on. We need food to live, it's that simple.
ReplyDeleteBless you. I follow Betsy and I know I will love reading the posts.

How very nice! Using food as a jump start for an RAK is just a natural for us ladies I think. I love all of your things here, but mostly the meal Don took a to the homeless man. Poor thing..I hope he can get his van back.
ReplyDeleteThose scones look very Valentine-ish! So fun!
Thanks for joining in....all very inspiring things! I'm already looking forward to what I can do next week!
It is good to do RAK and to remind us all to do more RAKs. The world benefits when we do. I will keep on the lookout to do more.
ReplyDeleteThat was very sweet of you. That's very sad about that man.
ReplyDeleteI feel for the man in question - how kind of Don and you to help out. And the other kindnesses look wonderful too. We are paid back ten-fold, aren't we? Hugs.
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned about the old man who had his van impounded reminded me about the man I helped on my blog. It is obvious he is homeless, but the local police keep moving him on when they see him, he told me, or they would book him for loitering. Then no doubt they go home to their families and have a hearty dinner!
ReplyDeleteFood=Love....and what lovely gestures you've cooked up. Your scones look delicious and pretty all drizzled in pink. -Visiting from Betsy RAK, Laurie.
ReplyDeletePure love. You are an angel, Wanda!! blessings and hugs ~ tanna

ReplyDeleteThat is very sad about the man who no longer has his van. Where does he live now? So nice of you to fix him some food. Takes so little to help someone else and make a difference in their day. Best wishes and blessings, Tammy
