A SUNDAY DIP


Today I thought I heard "splashing and laughing" at the pool.  But it's February for heaven's sake.  True, the sun is shinning but this is the first time anyone has braved the "unheated" pool since summer.

 It was three young boys and one girl.  I got my camera to document this first dip in the pool.  They said the water was COLD but that didn't keep them from some splashing and fun.  When they saw me, they wanted to know if I had cookies, and I had just made a batch, so after they dried off, they came up for for a few.

 I truly love that this complex is FAMILY and Seniors as I love the laughter and fun children bring to a community.   

 I will be waiting till summer to take my dip!!

    Just the thought makes me shiver! But we'd have an ice rink there if it was us. haha. Good thing you had cookies! So cute.

      They know me well by now, and my cookie jar is seldom empty. Of course my new mixer is a great help to making them in a hurry.

      VERY brave...they only stayed in about 1/2 hour, but that a long time in COLD water.

    that looks like such a nice pool! It must've been very warm there yesterday for them to go swimming. Our subdivision pool is closed until May. We did have some nice warm temps yesterday too though.

      It was warm high 70's, but I like 80's and 90's for swimming.

    I think kids are much braver than I am.
    What a great sense of adventure they have and I'm glad your complex is kid friendly.
    I'm also glad you have the "Cookie Lady" reputation.

    Well, it had to be warmer than Rochester's Polar Bear plunge! I doubt there were ice chunks floating around in there. Brrr!

    I don't think I would want to live in a community with everyone the same age as me. It would get boring.

    Brrr. I don't like to be cold. But kids just like to have fun and don't often think about the weather or temperature like we do. I'm sure they were very happy to have the cookies after. Best wishes, Tammy

    I love your uplifting attitude there, Wanda, and how you've truly connected with others, showing them the love of God etc. That is awesome. So glad you both are enjoying it there after such a move. Wonderful!

Done in watercolor A new week and a new theme ~ Jars My first thought was a painting of my jars of jam I just finished last week, but decided to share a jar as a vase.  I love using them that way.  Do you? SUMMER COLORS ~ WEEK 5

This Week:  We'll be working on our fifth - of six - weekly color palettes. It's pretty, preppy, and I hope you'll agree, really, really fun. I  loved  working with this combination and can't wait to see how you tackle it! So you ready?! Okay then, our color palette for Week Five of The SOC 5 is . . . . 1 Green + 1 Green + 1 Pink I'm joining a new Art Group and for the summer they are doing  SUMMER COLORS   I'm getting in on Week 5 of 6 weeks, but know they will have something new when this is over. As you can see from the directions above you are to create something artistic using only using two shades of green and pink.
