Part of my Mother's Day gift was getting a new look for the living room. I had thought I would redo the bedroom but decided it would be better to do the living room where we could enjoy it all the time.
My watercolors of the flowers I wanted to hang were in several different frames, so we decided to go with black frames which look nice with the couches I had for more years than you would believe.
Since we were using the black frames, our son painted our old Boston Rocker black which pulls the theme together. The coffee table and nesting tables have the black legs.
It all looks so nice. I've done a bit of the same at the camper. Over the winter I embroidered a couple of bouquets of flowers that fit into 5 inch hoops. They hang perfectly on the side of the kitchen cabinets and make it a bit more "homey".
ReplyDeleteI like what you've done and you're right, the black pulls it all together. There's no place like home is there?
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
It looks lovely! No doubt it helps to have your artistic eye!
ReplyDeleteI am happy to have more than a minute or two to visit your lovely blog. I look forward to your post every week.. This looks amazing and I love how you incorporated the black into the decor. Doesn't it just make you have a refreshed spirit, with a few changes? That was a sweet thing for your son to paint the rocker for you..Everything looks comfy just the way I like our home to look..YOU DID GOOD... Big hugs to you...
ReplyDeleteOOooo I love it and I am so glad to see your watercolors on the wall. The black accents work so well with everything. What a great Mother's Day gift.

Wanda, your living room looks cozy and inviting and I love the watercolor paintings over the couch. Those are the best kinds of gifts - someone to help out with a project or lend a hand. It's so fun to use what you already have and change things up. No money, just a little time. Have a wonderful week :)
ReplyDeleteIt all looks very smart!
