SCRIBBLE PICNIC ~ NEW YEARS 2018

A new year for Scribble Picnic and a new year of stretching our artistic styles.  One thing I needed to do before this first theme in 2018 was get some new supplies, clean and refill my watercolor pallet and organize my brushes.

Above is a sketch and quick watercolor of my freshly cleaned pallet, my new watercolor sketch pads and my brushes organized.

Below, is the actual photo I took to use as my model!  Can't wait to see what we will be doing this new year!  Looking forward to seeing all your "New Year" contributions.

Be sure and click on the Scribble Picnic badge on my sidebar to see all New Years from other perspectives.  Thanks again, Michael for hosting this fun challenge.

  3. Love it....I bought some watercolors months ago but have yet to play with them. I do acrylics but oils are my fav. Just need to sit down and take out the watercolors and play with them. Great job on yours..

    1. I've tried a few other mediums, but always come back to watercolor. It's my passion. Have fun with the watercolor...let them play, and don't try to control them...haha..Watercolors have a mind of their own..HaHa.

  9. Well you are right and ready for this New Year ... Love your thought process. I haven't advanced past colored pencils so I don't have much to clean up, but I am looking forward to another year of Scribble Picnic. Great job, Wanda ...

    2. I bet you are. You are lucky too as that was a combination of what was to be TWO giveaways but I never got around to doing the first one as time jsut slipped away so I kept adding little things here adn there adn then the food is all in last two weeks or so so shoudl be fresh. You will get to do another proper English tea bash. So thrilled for you adn you will LOVE the very nice watercolour set. :) The Blakwing pencils are incredible too- first used by Steinbeck and for Looney Tunes character sketches etc. They relaly have a great vevet fee to them that add so much expression to line work. Alex uses them a lot. Can't wait to see what you think. I will let you know when mailed so that you can be sure to be home keeping an eye out for your NEw Year celebration picnic hamper winnings! Wheeee!!!! :D CONGRATULATIONS!

  16. BTw, Wanda, jsut saw your note elsewhere whih I have commented on. I think the thing is that yours was not pushy and I have never read you put down any one with different views, regardless of one's won conviction. Actually, i think you find a perfect balance. It's when it gets long and full of links that I feel the art part is lost as such. Thanks for caring. :)
