Image result for the wise men following the star

Matthew 2:9-12  "After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.  When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.  On coming into the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.  Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.  And having been warned in a dream no to go back to Herod, they returned to their country another route."

Dear Lord, You were protecting you son in every way.  Wisemen journeyed long and hard to follow the star of promise to come and worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  To bring him costly treasures from afar.  And they had ears to hear when they had the dream, and hearts to obey and travel home a different route.  What conversations they must have had as they traveled back to their country.  You came for the Lost...those of lowest estate, and Kings from a far country.  You came for me.  I bow in worship today to my Savior, my Lord, the King of Kings.  I love You.   Amen.

  1. My favourite part of the Christmas story is how it dumbfounds our suppositions of how we woudl have thought it would go - that he would be born in splendour, not a dirty manger and how up until the last minute (as God often works), Joseph and Mary had nowhere to even have the baby! It says to me to not put God's ways in a box. he continually challenges man's pride, so called sense of decency and likewise, our own suppositions. he is so much bigger than even ou religious mindsets, interpretations, etc. As it says, our greatest thoughts are lower than his "lowest," if that were even possible.
