FAMILY COOKBOOKS FOR THE GIRLS

For several years I have wanted to make all the girls in my life a "Family Cookbook".  My daughters, granddaughters, daughter of my heart (DIL) and now my granddaughter in laws.  Nine in all.  So I made them in binders so we can add recipes from everyone when we have a keeper. (The picture above shows 3)

This is a starter cookbook, with some of our family favorites.  I hope you won't think me to vain as my picture is on the front..but then it's mostly my recipes and those from my mom and I don't want them to forget me when I'm gone..haha

Now they will all have "Grandma Floy's English Toffee" recipe, maybe next year one of them will make it.  HaHa.  I grated a
block of chocolate this afternoon...that's the most time consuming part, but it well worth it.  Best toffee ever.

All the boys in my life...get containers of cookies.
Tomorrow Mrs. Santa will bake a kizillion of them.  Made several different cookie doughs today.  Ready to bake tomorrow.

HOW IS YOUR COUNTDOWN COMING?

    1. Start early...and it won't be such a project. Of course I had to make nine, and that did take some time.

  4. One year after my mom passed away my brother took her handwritten cookbook and made copies for my sister and myself. It is a treasure. I'm sure your family will treasure yours also. I'm going to be baking today too. Lots and lots of baking!

    1. I don't have too many hand written ones. Those are truly a treasure. We were both doing a lot of baking today. Started early and got mine done by 3 pm. Blessings...

  5. Oh my gosh Wanda, that is the best gift I've heard of so far. How I wish I had my grandma's recipes...and Alex too, he even said last night he wished he had asked him Grandma for her recipes before she passed away. This is a priceless gift! What a wonderful way to pass on family traditions! (Can I have one? lol) ;)
