My dearest knows I love lighthouses, so the other day he was in a different part of the thrift shop and without me knowing, bought me this lighthouse which is now the night light in our bathroom. Isn't it adorable? Thanks Hon, for thinking of me.
Tuesday mornings are special to me. I attend a Women's Bible Study and the fellowship is so special. we take turns bringing the "goodies" and after everyone has got their coffee and goodies we have a great Bible Study.
I got a shot of the setup up. By the time we start, all tables are full. There is about 20+ ladies each week.
I like to make my cookie dough ahead of time so I can pick and chose the time I want to bake them.
Today it was Oatmeal~chocolate chip ~ walnut and....
Chocolate chip, with a few white chocolate chips thrown in!
We will be taking a little trip and for the first time in a while, this one does not include a funeral or memorial service. Some dear friends are sharing their Timeshare with us, so some R&R. Plan on lots of reading and naps. Not necessarily in that order. HaHa
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty: heaven and earth are full of Thy glory: glory be to Thee, O Lord most high." "I
pray, O God, for all human hearts that today are lifted up to Thee in
earnest desire, and for every group of men and women who are met
together to praise and magnify Thy name. Whatever be their mode of
worship, be graciously pleased to accept their humble offices of prayer
and praise and lead them unto life eternal through Jesus Christ our
Lord. Amen." As
people all over the world assemble to worship You on this
Sunday......Lord pour out your blessings and forgiveness on all who seek
you today. Open my heart to hear you word to me as it is preached
today. I love you. Amen

With the weather cooling and Autumn in the air, I thought some homemade Minestrone soup would be a good choice for my cooking class.
Served up with a little Parmesan cheese. The homemade bread was brought by one of the ladies attending the class.
Since everyone loves dessert, and I was only making the Minestrone for the class, I made a couple of pies to finish off our lunch.
Last month when I made Pumpkin Muffins with crumble top and had quite a bit of the topping left, so adding some to the top of the Apple Pie ~ sorta Apple Crumb even though it had a top crust. It was actually quite good!
How can you go wrong with pumpkin pie. With tons of whipped cream, of course.
I love these monthly cooking classes at the Villa, and even though the class is rather small, all that come enjoy watching me demonstrate the recipe and they especially enjoy eating what I fix. HaHa!!
I love to cook ~They love to watch and eat ~ WIN ~ WIN
Michael really gives us a challenge with his "Fill in the Blank". The above is what we had to work with. I didn't know we were going to get an extra week to work on it so I grabbed my sketch book and drew the two forms. This is what happened in the next 10 minutes. After I saw that we had more time...I decided to just go with my first thoughts and sketches.

What comes to your mind when you see these to "forms"? To see what all the other artists came up with, just click on the Scribble Picnic badge near the top of my sidebar.
Thanks Michael for hosting this, and S-T-R-E-T-C-H-I-N-G our brains..HaHa.
We do have fun!!! Last night our son Myk called and said he and Kaleb our grandson were in the area and going to stop by. We laughed and talked and I know Kaleb's favorite pie is pumpkin. I had ONE piece left and there was a little fun fighting over it, but Kaleb won!!! HaHa.
My one eyed bandit has now become Mr. Cool. He is feeling really good. Taking it easy, but today I loosened my grip, and let him go with me to walk Molly. He is holding the leash so I could get his picture.
The cane gives him a little more balance until he can really see clearly again.
I'm amazed how many of you or your loved ones have had cataract surgery. Unfortunately there is no surgery for glaucoma for me, so I will continue my nightly drops. It was caught early, and my last appointment showed no increase. I said eyes and ears are so important, so I'm thankful every day for my hearing aids and my Lumican drops.
We all have much to be thankful for.
Pray for the people in Northern CA and the horrible fires. More fires this year than I can every remember.
I took this picture Monday when I brought my dearest home from cataract surgery. He was ready for a needed nap. Dr. Woo said his eye was a challenge so the procedure took a little longer than expected.
This morning they took the bandage off, and she was very happy with the results. He has had no pain, and other than all the many drops required daily, he's a happy camper.
For those of you who knew he was having surgery, thanks for your prayers.
PS: My new job for a few days is all the driving, lifting and dog walking. I don't mind at all.
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for our trip to Tucson for Dustin's Memorial Service. It was a sad but beautiful service. Dustin was a fabulous classical guitar player, and his CD music filled the church and was such a blessing.
When we got home I had an email from Kris, and she said her hibiscus had bloomed the day after we left.
When I got home, my hibiscus on the balcony had bloomed. Even our flowers are connected. What a friendship we share over 70+ years.
The balcony is looking so pretty with my new plants. Love sitting there and doing my daily reading.
I had a $10 credit at Kirkland Home so I used it for a new Candle for Fall. "Cinnamon Coffee Cake". Smells good enough to eat.
Every once in a while you just need a meal of old fashioned meatloaf and scalloped potatoes.
Visited a thrift store while in Tucson called The Golden Goose, and I did find some treasures. A soft cotton queen size fat sheet and two pillowcases with lace borders. Love soft cotton. Sheet $2 and pillowcases $.50 ea. A "J.Jill" top with lovely colors, and a Clive Cussler Novel...Love this mans story telling ability. This one takes place at Pearl Harbor 1941.
Since I love to read. My friend Linda loaned me the latest book from Jan Karon ~ the Mitford Series. Have you read any of this series?
Last but not least ~ Molly is happy to be home after a weekend in the Kennel.
My dearest will be having cataract surgery on Monday. Would appreciate your prayers.
