AMERICAN APPLE PIE

Eric, our Maintenance man at the Villa was having a "Missions Conference" at his church and they were serving dessert from each country represented.  He ask me what was dessert would best represent "America"....Of course I said APPLE PIE.

Next think I knew, I was baking him an Apple Pie for his Mission Conference ~ HaHa...... It was my pleasure.  Smelled so good, I need to make one for us.

Our friend Tom is arriving today and we are excited to spend a few days with him.  Perhaps that apple pie will be on the menu tomorrow.

  1. That apple pie looks delish! What kind of apples do you use? Your pies always look like an art form. Now I am hungry for an apple pie! Have a great time with your friend.

    1. What ever I have on hand. This time it was Honey Crisp...but if I know I'm making an apple pie, I prefer Pippin. aka Granny. If I use a sweeter apple I add a little lemon juice.

  3. Oh- yeah...apple pie. My mother always made a big apple cobbler on apple picking day when I was a kid. I have never been able to duplicate her recipe--it was soo good. xo Diana

    1. Oh those are the best...when you pick them, peel them, and bake it up fresh. Cobbler, or Pie...give me a slice.

    1. I can make a good fruit pie, but I'm not so good with cream pies...that was my mom's expertise.

  5. I make a mean apple pie and cherry pie. My husband likes blackberry pie as well. I have never been much on making cobblers though.
