SCRIBBLE PICNIC ~ FAIRIES

This week the word is "Fairies".  Several ideas came to my mind..The "Tooth Fairy", "Tinker Bell", a "Fairy Village" but decided on a pretty princess fairy with a bouquet of magic wands.

I started with a pencil sketch and then decided to add some watercolor.  I like both!

To see all the "Fairies" from the other artists please click on the Scribble Picnic ~ Fairies on the side bar.

    1. Thanks. I seem to think that the fairy princess in Pinocchio was pretty, young and wore blue. Maybe that was in my mind.

  3. Wanda,
The way you drew the face of the fairy is how my mom used to draw faces. I love it and her birthday was yesterday. She would have been 100 years old. A lovely rendition of this week's prompt. I love her hair as well.
    Blessings

    1. You had a mom that loved to draw. That's great. I as the only one in my family that loved to draw, and I have been drawing people since a little girl. I miss my mom too. She was the one who loved to cook and taught me all my cooking skills.

  4. your piece reminds me of glinda the good witch from the wizard of oz, maybe it's the blue dress and gold/yellow hair, she's quite lovely take on the scribble theme.

    have a lovely day.

    1. Yes, I do remember Glinda. Also as I mentioned above, I think the fairy in Pinocchio was young and had a blue dress. She was somewhere in my mind.

    1. Thank you Mary. I really haven't done much drawing of fairies...I thought the wings looked a little freakish, but it was too late to change them. HaHa. After your comment, I like the wings. Thank You.

    1. The new header is the pool here at Villa Ramona where my dearest and I live. Family and Senior units. Since we never owned a home, and always lived in parsonages, we were fortunate to find a place so lovely that we could afford, and also close to the adult children and grandchildren. (Except for Jill in Oregon) Thanks so much for your visits.

  13. Wanda, I love the wings which you thought look odd somehow. I esp love the colours and line work. It is a magical piece indeed. Thank you so muc for adding it, and like you, I've never really drawn a fairy before either. There's a first for everything as indeed this art cooperative will provide again, I'm sure.

  14. Isn't she a treat! Love the lavender/blue combination. So delicate and pretty.

There once was a fairy divine
She rarely stepped out of line
    But if she fell
    Into the dell
Her wands would save her behind

    :-)
