ODDS AND ENDS

My dearest has found a perfect spot to read his Bible while I'm shopping at the Mall.  The Paris Baguette on the ground floor.  Fresh coffee, a pastry and morning devotions.  He's a happy man.
A happy Molly, taking a nap with her teddy bear.

The recent rains have given all the plants in the Villa a bath.  Everything looks so fresh and clean.

This is my exercise machine.   I use it several times a day.  This is the "UP" mode.

This is the "DOWN" mode!  So far today I've been up and down 4 times.  Why go to the gym...HaHa
I completed the first week in my "Flourish Journal" and the first coloring page.  It was fun, and the first week was on God's love.  I know I will enjoy this project each week.

How is your new year going?

  1. Wait! Is it the new year already?
I do like your exercise machine. I've been thinking I should take advantage of my stairs as well.
Love that Dearest of yours. Perfect spot for a Bible study.

    1. Martha, can you believe. Another year already started. I love the picture of your grandson that reminds me of Tristan.
I don't do much Mall shopping, but when I do, he will have a spot!

    1. They say stairs are a good way to exercise. Especially on Laundry day for me...Take it down, later, put it in the dryers, later take it out and fold it, back up the stairs each time. I do get a workout on Laundry Day.

  3. Great spot at the mall your sweet husband found! We used to be mall walkers for exercise. Especially in the summer when it's too hot outside! Right now it is COLD here at the ranch! And it's snowing back in Dallas!

  5. Trips to Costco really gives me exercise. Up and down the aisles on that cement floor wears me out. I really try to stay out of the mall. Shopping just isn't my thing. I really don't miss the stairs at our other house. Laundry in the cold garage wasn't my thing!
Love your Odds and Ends posts. Way to go.

    1. I bet you walk 5 miles doing the Costco run. Cement floors are no fun. I think I had leg cramps the night after our Costco run. I don't really "shop" at the Mall. Macy's is the only store that carries the (shh) panties I wear. And we do like the soup and pastries at Paris Baguette..and their homemade bread.

  7. Stairs are the bane of my existence. We have 10 to the first floor and 15 to the second.

  8. Love these kinds of posts-they give me a peek into your REAL LIFE. Who knew you would have a built in exercise area when you moved in? lol Hubby looks happy in his little spot there.

  9. That is a great place to sit and read. I would like that a lot. Your Molly looks so adorable resting with her Teddy. Those stairs would kill my knees. I have trouble doing the stairs in my house. I have a basement and three stories so there are a LOT of stairs. I'll bet you could lose even more weight living in my home.

  11. Hi Wanda! I saw your comment on Cheryl's blog about hearing Andrae Crouch play piano when he was just a young man, and I had to come over here to meet you! When my hubby and I got married in 1971 I joined a record club, and in my first order of records I received Andrae Crouch's first album. I have loved his music ever since.

I enjoyed browsing through a few of your posts!

    1. Hi Jean ~ Thanks for stopping by. A memory like meeting and hearing Andrae Crouch as a young man, has stuck with me all these years. I too love his music. I hope I see you again, and I'll check out your blog.

  12. I also wanted to say that your steps reminded me of an old Laurel and Hardy episode - moving the piano. Have you ever seen it? Hilarious!

I won't say the stairs are comfy but it's great exercise. Can't do them with my bum hip. Not to be confused with a hip bum! Ha!

    1. HaHa. I know a day will come when they won't be so inviting. A nice thing about this complex..if you need a downstairs for such reasons, you are first on the list for vacancies. That's good to know.

  14. Stairs are great exercise! I read somewhere that if you choose stairs over elevators where you work daily, you will weigh 5 lbs less in a year than if you took the elevator!

  16. Ha-ha! You are so right. Why go to a gym when you have stairs. And the great outdoors for walking. :)

  17. I have been praying for a house with no more stairs, and in this last move, God gave me one. However, it is a long house so I walk long distances around and around. I wonder if that counts? Also, on days when my arthritis acts up, I get in my wheel chair and work as fast as I can to roll it through the house. The arm exercises are good. Where there is a will to exercise, there is a way.
