A LITTLE THIS AND THAT

I admit it!  I have a thing for lamps.  The are all over our home ~ different sizes, tall and short and a variety of lamp shades.  This is my newest one.  Thrift Store find.  I needed a "tall" lamp as my Thanksgiving pilgrims are tall.  I love how they show of the details of the pilgrims.

You know how I feel about fresh flowers...yes, another trip to Trader Joe's.
I could not wait for Thanksgiving when I saw this 1/2 turkey breast at Trader Joe's.   Oh those turkey sandwiches with mayo and cranberry sauce...Yum.

A big pot of Taco Soup.  So easy ~ 4 cups cooked and cubed chicken breasts.
4 cans of diced tomatoes, 1 pkg. Taco dry seasoning.
1 can of black beans, white beans, kidney beans, butter beans...(you chose what kind of beans you like) Approx. 4 to 5 cans of beans.  (don't drain)  1 can whole kernel sweet corn, 1 can pitted black olives.  Dump it all in a large crock pot and heat for several hours.
Serve with chips, cornbread, shredded cheese, sour cream...you decide.
I tried one of those little cake mixes for two.   Not too bad and it makes two large servings, or 4 small.  They come in chocolate or yellow, and frosting is included.   More quick an easy!!

    1. Nothing says home like an apple pie. Thrift stores are great for them. Just make sure you plug them in to see they work.

  8. I came home from your house and put night lights in my kitchen. ha ha! I love them!

Your taco soup sound fantastic! I will have to give that a try. And I think that "small cake" would be just prefect for three.

    1. You will not believe this, but I have that same lamp! I have pilgrims too but mine are a little different. I love your mirror behind the vignette! I have been looking for one that has divisions like a window pane, but I haven't found one that I can afford. Oh, about the lamps, I buy lamps at the Good Will and paint them if I have to. I have never spent over $5 for one yet. Your food is making me hungry. I wish you could come over here and cook a little. Your food always looks so good.

    2. How funny that you would have the same lamp...but then I think we think alike. The Window Pane mirror was an old window from a farm house and a gentlemen in our former church put the mirror and painted it for me.
