MENOPAUSE AND BLOGOPAUSE

Several of my younger girlfriends have shared with me some of the symptoms and frustrations of menopause.  After listening carefully I realized I have "blogopause".

I feel frustration when I can't think of anything to blog.  I feel fat when all I can find to blog about is food.  I feel guilty that I will let my blog friends down if I don't post every day.  I find I'm moody and sometimes just want to hit the delete button and stop blogging altogether.

Have you ever experienced "blogopause"?  Are you like me, going through it right now?  What's the cure?

I think I need to get out, take my camera and find something NEW to blog about.  Well, the opportunity has come, and I'm very excited.

We will be taking a trip to Lake Tahoe.  Although we have been there many times, and I have a storehouse of pictures of Tahoe, this trip is different.   First of all, the reason for the trip at this time is our dear friends that own the cabin at Tahoe are celebrating 50 years of marriage, and want to renew their vows on the beach at the cabin.  They have ask Don to officiate and invited us to spend 4th of July with them.  (new pictures of vows on the beach)

We have never been to Tahoe on 4th of July.....Fireworks  (more pictures)

Dropping off Molly on the way at Pismo Beach.  My cousin and her husband spend the summer at their RV there.  They love Molly and will keep her for us.  They have a chocolate lab, "Chocco" and he and Molly are good friends.  (more pictures)

Also another project I'm considering is developing a cook book.
"Cooking for Two".  It came to me that there are two times in our lives that we cook for two.  When we first get married, before the kids, and when your are retired and it just the two of you.

I think the subtitle could be "Love Birds and Old Farts".

I'm feeling better already!!!  HaHa

HAVE A GREAT DAY...I'LL HAVE SOMETHING TO BLOG ABOUT WHEN I GET BACK!!

    1. I started in 2007 which is 9 years. Hard to believe I'm been doing it that long. My life has changed, the followers have changed...some have stayed for the duration...and new and wonderful ones have been added. All in all, I do love blogging, and sometimes forget I can make the rules.

  3. Sounds like you have some good ideas coming up! I think people overthink their posts. And there's nothing wrong with waiting a few days until you have something to share. :) Have a wonderful trip...sounds like lots of fun!

  4. I love you, girl! You are hysterical! I'd buy the book! I've been there, stuck! I think you need to take the pressure off of yourself and just blog when you feel like it. I know I've probably lost some followers but when it's not fun, it's time to take a break! But you are always fun and funny! Enjoy your trip and I look forward to seeing what you have to share!

  9. Ha-ha! :) I love the subtitle. So funny! I have so much to blog about but sometimes just don't know how to tie it all together in a post. I just go with the flow now and don't worry about how often I post. Thankfully, menopause was the best thing that happened to me. So glad that phase of life is over. We are about to become two over here again as our youngest heads off to college in August.

    1. All of you have given me such helpful advice, and believe me, I'm going to take it! I'm glad someone likes my crazy sense of humor. It really helps in the winter season of life to still enjoy laughing. It will be a new experience with the last one out of the nest. We had a few "recycle" back home and then fly away again. HaHa

  10. And here I am thinking of starting one!
Blog when you want... you're your own boss so don't be the type of boss who puts undue pressure on his employees. :-)

    When the thought of blogging
    Becomes more like slogging
    Sit back and relax
    Your brain do not tax

It will come back with a flow
    Don't feel sad or low
    You have the power
    To choose by the hour

We'd miss you if you left
    I, myself, would feel bereft
So hoping once in a blue moon
You wil sing a blogging tune

    1. Suzanne ~ you touch my heart as few have in my blogging experience. You have brought a touch of elegance and wit and tenderness that I have bathe in.

This poem on my behalf just demonstrates the point I'm trying to make. I love you deeply and dearly.

  11. Whew, I'm glad it's only Blogopause...
That can be cured by visiting lots of friends, me included.
Check your FB private message. I sent both you and Don a message.

  13. I think it happens to most of us at one point or another, and I think the best thing to do is to give oneself some slack! Get back to doing it for fun rather than seeing it as a "must".

  14. There you go, write a cookbook and call it Lovebirds and Old Farts. LOL That would be a great name. My problem is, I don't like to cook for two as much now, as I did when we first got married. I don't post something everyday any longer, sometimes it's three or four days or longer between post. When all else fails, post a recipe you particular like and enjoy making. Post something about your hobbies. But don't feel like you need to blog each day. I have found a lot of my friends no longer post every day. Since I'm on Facebook, I check that out more often then the blogs. Have a great 4th.

  16. Wanda, I've done that before--taken a break from blogging and you certainly can as well. Lake Tahoe is so beautiful, I just know it will inspire you and lift you up out of the blogging doldrums. Enjoy!!
