AN UNEXPECTED LUNCH DATE

On Thursdays my dearest and his friend have lunch together.  Usually at Applebee's.  Marlin is the adult Sunday School teacher where we attended church before our move to the Villa.  Today he called an had to cancel.

I needed to go to Trader Joe's which is in the same strip mall, so I took Marlin's place today for an unexpected lunch date with my hubby.  He enjoyed a turkey club and garden salad.

(I chuckled when I saw the "halo" over his head, but then he is an angel (most of the time)  HaHa

I chose the French onion soup and a side Cesar salad.  It was yummy and I got my shopping a Trader Joe's done too.  One disappointment was they have discontinued my favorite Hot Sweet Mustard!  (Bummer) But I made up for it with a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Don't you love unexpected surprises, like lunch?

  2. Yes, I do like surprises like that. Just yesterday I had a surprise visit from my niece who hasn't been to my house in over 15 years and we took her out for dinner. It was a most welcome and enjoyable surprise.

    1. I'm so blessed to have one so close. I don't buy a lot there, but they have special things that I don't want from anywhere else. Extra Virgin Olive oil for one. It's the best and comes with a handy spout.

  7. So sorry to read about your nephew's passing. It's good to be together as family when these things happen.
    I love unexpected surprises too.
It's things like our older Granddaughter just calling us to tell us her latest news. It means a lot when the kids take the time to share their lives with Dave and I.

    1. This nephew is the brother of the nephew from Sweden that passed away a year ago at 61 with an heart attack. Very sad. Three of the four brothers have passed.

I love that your granddaughters are so close to you and Dave and share their lives.

  9. HAhaha, yes, a halo! Well, you have one too...its just off kilter. Why is yours so sideways, dear Wanda? Lol. So glad you had a nice date.

So, do you go to a church nearby where you live now or is that too weird from having been a pastor and wife before?
