THE DUST HAS SETTLED!

A SWEET FRAGRANCE
The dust has settled. The party's over, but the memories and pictures will go on and on.  I received many beautiful gifts and cards but wanted to share this one because of the story.

Tresor perfume from Lancomb  is my all time favorite fragrance.  I received a large bottle of perfume and a beautiful gift box with another large bottle, a purse size and hand lotion at my party.  I will be smelling wonderful to heaven and back for a very long time!

Then this morning when I was reading the Daily Bread devotion the title was
"The Fragrance of Christ"

How appropriate and how timely ~ In II Corinthians 2:14-17 Paul reminded the Christians there that they were the aroma of Christ.  "For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ."

When we walk into a room, do people smell the fragrance of Christ in our lives, our smile, our compassion, our availability.  I hope that's true of me.  That's what I long for ~ to represent my Lord with the sweetest fragrance.  Sometimes that all that's needed and more powerful than any words.

My actual birthday is Sunday May 1st, thus my middle name. Wanda Mae!! (only used when my mom was upset with me)
HaHa
My girls are taking me out to breakfast Sunday morning so the celebrating continues....

Have a great weekend and perhaps Monday things will get back to "normal"....I hope not ~ tee hee

  3. Wanda, The way you spoke of us smelling of Christ....I pray I do. You may want to refrigerate some of your perfume..to keep them fresh. I laughed instantly about your mom saying your whole name. Everyone in our neighborhood knew my brother was Charles Edwardddddd. LOL I can hear mommy yelling his name now. Blessings to you for a fabulous time with your family on your Birthday. xoxo, Susie

    1. Thanks for the tip about refrigerating perfume. It is sealed, does that make a difference?
HaHa had to laugh out loud at your brother....I guess that's universal.

  7. Lovely. If your blog "scent" is any indication, then your goal has most certainly been reached for we feel your smile, compassion and availability!
Have a great brekkie on Sunday. Yum!
Yes, on more than one occasion I heard Natalie Suzaaaaaaane. Grin. Maybe that's why two first names were invented!

  8. What a beautiful post! I can smell your sweet aroma from here and I don't mean Tresor, although it is one of my favorites from the past. I have memories of Tresor' and my sister when she was a single, young girl. Crazy how a scent brings memories. But you are truly the lingering sweet fragrance of Christ in all you say and do. Thanks for the reminder!

    1. Thanks Bonnie. True. My mother wore an Avon perfume (can't remember the name) but years after she passed my daughter was in a thrift store and bought an Avon locket that had a pressed perfume in it. Jill said I had to buy it because it smelled just like Grandma Floy.

  9. Happy birthday, Wanda! Hope your day tomorrow is just wonderful. Who didn't have a mother that yelled both our first and middle names. But mine went one better. I can still here her saying, "Edward David Miller! You get over here RIGHT NOW!" Ha ha.
You are right on target with having the fragrance of Christ. If not us, then who? And as the others have said, we smell the fragrance of Christ right through this blog. Thanks for the post.
