GOING AND COMING AND A SURPRISE PARTY

We took a little trip this weekend to celebrate Don's cousin's 70th Birthday.  On our way out of town the windows of heaven opened and the rain came down...really came down.

A day later when we headed home....blue skies, sunshine and puffy clouds.

It was a "surprise" party, and she was surprised.  She had family and friends from Idaho and Nashville and a house full that lived a lot closer.

Lou is my dearest cousin, and Aunt Trula's daughter.  Nothing like cousins that you've grown up with.

Now some of us girls just had to have a little fun photo shoot.  HaHa.  The gal in green is Lou's friend from Nashville, the gal on the other side of Lou is her sister from Idaho, and your truly at the end.  A SIL on the other end.
Lou has her kitchen decorated in roosters, and this gift of a rooster bird house was so cute..the things hanging down are its long legs and feet.

A beautiful and delicious cake with yellow roses which are her favorite.

It was such a delightful time to spend a couple of days just visiting, laughing, reminiscing, and eating.

    1. Oh it was, and the view from the home where we had the party had a view of the ocean. The last day when the sun came out....the view was marvelous.

  4. What fun! Oh how I'd like to get together with all the cousins. We have quite a clan too! Mama had a big family. We've a ll grown and gone our own way. Sounds like something I may need to contact the older cousins about. They are the ones who can get it done. I'm one of the younger ones at 55. I'm getting old.

    1. Nothing like cousins. Growing up we were together every Sunday. We were best friends. I have one cousin and a sister in their 80's, then two of us are the same age and just just behind at 75. So darling...you ARE YOUNG. Love and Hugs.

  8. What fun - your family knows how to celebrate. These kind of things take some organization but they are so worth it when everyone can gather together. How nice you and Don could go.

  10. Happy 70th to your cousin-in-law. Ironic that my aunt also decorates her kitchen in roosters and has a fondness for yellow roses. :)
