"STORMY WEATHER"

Stormy weather in Southern California can be beautiful.  I had to pick up a few things at the store and was fortunate to get some shots of these clouds.  I love the contrast of stormy clouds and palm trees.

It was a perfect morning to light all the candles on the coffee table as I did my morning devotions and reading.  I love that the rain washed all the dust off the trees by the balcony and gave my plants a good drink.

I read this morning in Psalm that the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving is pleasing to the Lord.   So my sacrifice of thanksgiving is for the rain, the beautiful sky and the soft light of the candles.  What a good way to start the day.

  1. I know you don't get rain all that often, so I'm sure it is welcome! The sky sure is beautiful!

  2. Wanda, So glad you got some needed rain. We are to have few days of rain...some times heavy...which gives me the heebee geebees...always afraid of flooding. But I was thankful today that the rain stayed away long enough for Ted and I to clean out the flowerbeds and pick up all the debris from the trees. We are both tired...but we feel blessed that we are able to work and get tired. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie

    1. My dearest and I say the same thing. We work and get tired, but feel blessed to have the health to do it.
I don't have a yard...so no yard work. Try to keep the balcony looking like a yard with my potted plants. Hugs.

  3. I do know how southern California can be. I grew up in Anaheim. We are getting plenty of much needed rain now. Just so you know, your top background picture is covering your header and the top of the post.

    1. This weather made me happy today. After my reading, I made some banana bread and the house smelled so good.

I don't always light them when the sun is streaming in...this morning was a perfect time.

    2. We are seeing a big lightning storm right now. When the weather is like this, I always have to do my rendition of Stormy Weather for my DH.

  10. I am part of the EARLY team and we leave this coming Sunday March 13 at ......4AM!
Of course it also is Daylight Savings starting to really it will be in my head 3 AM. It takes about 11 hours driving straight through. That's why we leave so early. The next grooup comes Wed. to set up all the MASH tents and the kids arrive Saturday around noon. We early people leave the following Friday and boogie back home straight through. Kids do a 2 day and arrive home on Saturday before Easter. Am trying to get my stuff together but this cough and sinus ickies is really slowing me down. Getting a perm tomorrow so at least my hair will behave..more or less..(:0) Appreciate prayers for me and for Hubby too, as he holds down the fort while I'm gone.

  11. Love the sky shots - very dramatic.
I have an obsession with candles, candle holders and candle snuffers. There is nothing like that special glow of candlelight. Your arrangement is lovely.
