SUNDAY SKETCHES WITH ALEXANDRA

Alexandra has been sharing different cups she uses and also cups of friends when they supply her with a picture.

Sounded like a fun idea, so I sketched a couple of mind.  The one on the left is from my friend Martha from New York.  I love pottery and it's made by Pfaltgraff and hold a nice big cup of coffee.

On the other hand, I enjoy my English tea (PG Tips) in my Royal Albert Bourn China cup and saucer.  It's called "Old English Rose".

Do you have a favorite mug....one so special if's it dirty you'll wash it instead of grabbing a different clean cup?

  1. Your tea cup illustrations are so darn cute. I think I'm a bit partial to the rose patterned one. Hee And yes, I do have a favorite mug. It was given to me by a local restaurant we go to every year for my birthday. It's why with bluebirds on them. LOVE LOVE that cup. :)

    Happy SS!! :)

    1. Thanks Laurie....I have a feeling we all have at least one we're drawn too. This will sound rather silly, but I have a blue nightgown, and usually grab the blue cup for my first cup of coffee. Gotta match you know...hahaha

  3. That Pfaltzgraff cup has a big belly.
You are funny with your matching cup and nightgown. I change my cup according to the weather. Can't us my snowman cups in the middle of the summer, but they're perfect on cold winter days.

  5. Your mugs are so cute Wanda! I like big mugs. At the moment my favourite is a tall, insulated ceramic one with a fitted cover.

  8. Sweet sketch! I like them both.
I have a few favourites, too, and others sit at the back of the cupboard for years yet I can't seem to turf them.
My most recent favourite is a beautiful piece of blue pottery that is actually a beer stein but I use it for coffee/tea. My dear friend Erik's sister, Martha, is a potter down East and I have a few of her pieces. Love them. She is on FB and I believe if you Google her you will find a display. Martha Millard.

  15. I currently am using a Christmas mug because I like the size of it. However, I feel that women are the ones that tend to have a favorite mug.

  17. I love your amazing cups illustration! And your lovely note inspired me immediately to look for my favourite mug in the cupboard. As you I have one for my coffee and another one for tea. I should paint them as well.

  18. Oh. Lovely. And I love your blog background. Very pretty. I have a favorite tea cup. Although I don't drink tea or coffee. I use mine to store my garlic.
I'd love a collection of vintage cups to put in my flour and sugar.
Your sketches are lovely. I am following you. Actually I thought I already was but maybe not. My post is linked today too.
    Have a great week!

  19. That's a cute drawing of your mugs. I have a tall white one with the word "Tea" written in green around the top. That's my go-to mug for tea (of course). My mother-in-law gave me one with snowmen that I am using for my hot chocolate. Of course that will get changed out during the summer.

  20. I really like to use my mugs. Seems I use a different one everyday. I really don't like cups with a dark interior. I like to see the color of my coffee or tea. We had some both inside and outside dark brown cups which I didn't care for so we used them for camping. We finally had to get rid of them. We never knew if our tea was brewed or not. It always tasted like water...shows how influenced we are by color.
Love your sketches and you made me smile with your blue nightie and cup to match.
Waiting until 4:30 today to find out if I serve tomorrow on Jury. I'm hoping I don't have to.
