SOME MOTHER/DAUGHTER FUN

Our New Year's Eve plans for the past decades have been stay at home, watch TV, and if we could stay awake....watch the "ball" come down in New York!!

This year was different.  I saw a brochure for a "New Years Eve" Street celebration in Old Town Monrovia.  Family friendly, live music, stores and restaurants open and the countdown at midnight with the "rising of the ball".

Julie, our second daughter, the mom of Amanda, Monica, Nick and Jon spent the evening with me.  We dressed the part, and laughed, ate at Rudy's Mexican Cafe and enjoyed the festivities.

She is already making plans for us to go to the Rose Bowl Parade next year.   Oh dear...what have I gotten myself into.

Happy New Year.....I'll see you next year!!

  5. What a special celebration. The Rose Bowl Parade is pretty awesome. You will have to get up with the chickens to see it but it's pretty to see in person.

  7. Oh that sounds lovely, Wanda. And warm enough to do that too. here in Fort Collins, it was far too cold that they actually cancelled the fireworks (not that I would have gone anyway)!

I feel silly, but somehow I forgot you had daughters! Oh dear me. Sorry. Now I know...am reminded.

OK, well you've already answered my curiosity on how everyone spent their new year so ignore my blog question.

BTW, perhaps you might like to consider growing out a "'stache-- you look oh so debonair, wouldn't you agree? :)

    1. So you like my "stache"...All I need is bow tie.
I have three daughters and one son. Julie is a sweetheart inside and out and a lot of fun to be with.

    2. I'm sure she is but let's face it, if she was a pill to hang out with it's not like you are going to come out and say that here in public! :)

    3. And yes, with bow tie all you need now are some wonderful copper coloured knickerbockers. My cousin used to wear those at this school even though it was the 80's!

  9. What fun! I usually just stay home -- too cold. This year I fell asleep at 11:00. Oh well, it's still 2016 in the morning. I think it would be fun to go to the Rose Parade. It's always so pretty to watch on TV.

  11. Haha... it looks like you've started something there Wanda, but what fun!
Love your moustache (now that feels weird typing that) We had a quite New Year but very enjoyable after a frantic family Christmas.
All the best for 2016 to you and yours ;D

  12. It's good to do something different once in a while. I am such a homebody, especially at night, that I am fine with just staying home. I have mustaches for photos but always forget to bring them out. Love yours!

  14. Wanda, You and your daughter are so cute. My neighbor lady and her sister went to the parade this year. I do not think they were attending any game though. That would be fun if you've never done that. Blessings to all of you. xoxo,Susie
