CREATIVE TUESDAY

The theme for Creative Tuesday is close to all our hearts.  Two motto's that speak to these siniments.

"Home is Where the Heart is" and "Love Will Guide You Home."

As I pondered these two thoughts, this picture and story came to my mind.

She was weary and lonely.  The first time away from home for any length of time.  Now she's in college, in the city.  It too big, too noisy, and her dorm feels like a cubical.

As she laid in her dorm bed, her thoughts were home and her soft bed, the red brick house, the view of the mountains, and her mom's kitchen.

Her body was in the city, but "HOME IS WHERE HER HEART WAS".  The smell of a apple pie cooling on the window ledge and the love that made it WILL GUIDE HER HOME".

She pulled the covers up over her head and counted the days till Spring Break!

Hope you in enjoyed the sketch, and the story.  That's the way my mind works.

    1. HaHa...I guess in a painting, you have the liberty to make it as big as you like. In reality it would have run over and made a mess in my oven. But I could go for a piece right now.

    1. Sometimes a story just helps portray the picture. I have a grandson away at college, and I think that prompted it.

    1. I'm a storyteller at heart, and it seems anything I paint, becomes a story in my own mind. Decided to share it this time. Have a grandson away at college...I think that helped. HaHa

  14. Wanda,
Just lovely. I can smell the pie but can't eat it unless it is wheat and sugar free. lol:) What a great image of love. We are away from home and you are making me homesick.

    1. Janis, let's pretend, since it's a painting, that is doesn't have sugar or wheat....So enjoy a big slice. HaHa. We retired and moved to So.CA to be close to our kids. Good decision.

I guess that old saying "The Way to a man's heart is through his stomach".....The other day my neighbor came up just as I was taking dinner out of the oven.....she said " I know why your husband love you..." He does love my love to cook. Having a grandson at college also made me think of how he misses home cooking.l
Happy Birthday Michael...Hope your day is great, and I couldn't find a place to leave a comment on your Heart and arrow which I thought was darling...and you added a story too, didn't you...Love and Hugs
