TRYING TO CREATE SOME FUN EACH WEEK

Since our Study on "Life Long Love" at church we had been trying to have more "Date Fun" time together.  Today we went to Old Town Monrovia and saw the early bird  movie "The Heart of the Sea" a take on the Moby Dick novel and directed by Ron Howard.  Excellent movie.  (Take a seasick pill before your go..HaHa)

Just down the street is a "Salad Bistro" I've been wanting to try so we had lunch there.  This is their "Veggie" sandwich.  Roasted mushrooms, bell peppers, red onions.  Very tasty.

Don enjoyed his half.....

and I enjoyed mine.

Our Tristan is into "monkey's" since he is learning "Ten Little Monkey's Jumping on the Bed".  Found this adorable one at the Toy Store next to the Theatre.  It's so soft and lovable, I can't wait to mail it to him.

A brisk winter day was perfect to see a movie and have lunch.  I think this weekly Date Fun will be something we are going to keep doing.

What do you do for fun??

    1. Tonight we are building graham cracker houses for our decorating party with the grandkids tomorrow. The Grandfather made one for himself too, even though he isn't sure what time he'll be home. Hm... maybe I'm going to need one too.

Tomorrow evening we are going to the church Christmas party and I'm supposed to wear an "ugly" sweater and bring an appetizer of some kind... Oh oh. I wonder what it will be after an afternoon full of grandchildren?

  2. We don't do movies because the theater closed, but we do enjoy sharing a sandwich at our favorite deli. We usually do that on Sundays after church. Then we might do a little shopping or visit the flea markets. It's the simple things!

    1. This little theater is so close and if you go to the early bird showings..(anything before noon) it's half the price. I agree, it's the simple things that bring the most pleasure. Hugs.

  5. For fun Louis Dean and I like to stay home! Sit in the gazebo with a cup of coffee, glass of tea or wine if it's later in the day/evening. We watch the wind blow the leaves from the trees or enjoy seeing the birds at the feeders. I don't think we really like going anywhere or doing anything better than we like BEING home!! Together! Guess we are fuddy duddy home bodies - but it is what makes us happy!

  7. That sammie looks good, and that monkey is tooooooo cute. I thought you and your Dearest already had a weekly date set up? Maybe it fell by the wayside a bit. Glad to hear you're dating again! Grin.

    1. Isn't he just too cute?

We had the plan to do it weekly, but life got in the way and we were not doing it very often. We realized after the series on LLL, it's really a necessity in any marriage to keep it fun and alive when it's so easy to get in a "rut". A friend once told me the only difference between a rut and a grave...the grace has ends. HaHa. So were trying to stay out of the RUT.

    2. oops....should say grave....but every marriage needs "grace" too...haha

  13. Wanda, I love the idea of dates. The movie sounds terrific, and we would love that sandwich. Such a cute monkey for Tristan. Sometimes, we just go to Dairy Queen and sit in the car eating our cone and it feels like a date!
