TUESDAY MORNINGS

For the last 8 weeks I've attended a Women's Bible Study at our Church on Tuesday mornings.  The theme was "True Women 101" which was a study of God's design for women and how to live that out in a culture that has a different view than the Bible in many ways.

It was a very thought provoking study and so interesting to hear 25 different ladies share their personal stories and their journey, like my own, to live godly lives in a culture that resists that goal.   It talked about passing it down to future generations.

I'm so happy my mom was a "True Women" in every sense of the word, and taught me so much.  In turn I've tried to live in front of my daughters that life so they would embrace and pass it on to their children.  Now Monique, my granddaughter is putting these things into practice in her marriage.  That's four generations.  That is the only legacy I desire.

Are you involved in any kind of Bible Study?

  2. That sounds like a good one....glad you enjoyed it! I haven't done a Bible Study like that in a while, but they are always thought provoking. A legacy is the only thing we leave on this earth...like you, I hope I'm leaving a godly one!

    1. One of the things of retired life, is I get to be the student. For so many years in ministry, I was expected to do the teaching and leading of the Women's groups.

I think you will leave a wonderful legacy dear Betsy...You already are.

  3. Last year our Ladies of Grace on Tuesday did a Bible study on women of the Bible, which was very good. Like you, I am very thankful that my great-grandma, my granny, and my mom passed down to me their love for Jesus and a desire for Him and His Word. I also attend Bible Study Fellowshio, which is currently studying the Book of Revelation.

    1. Thank the Lord for grandmas and moms.... I was involved in BSF for years when we lived in Santa Barbara. It's a wonderful study. Oh I bet the study of Revelation would be exciting as our world is in it's last stages it would seem.

  6. No, and I haven't been for years. Back when I was younger I was always in a Bible study. Now Louis Dean and I read the Bible together each morning and have our own little study and devotional. I suppose the 'seasons' change sometimes and this is where we are right now.

  7. I think it's always interesting to share thoughts and ideas with others. I am not involved in Bible study but attend the occasional Taizé retreat and also have great conversations with several friends of mine who are ministers and priests. Always enlightening.

    1. There is wisdom in listening to others. If we don't listen we don't learn. I love having discussions with others too. Much of my knowledge has come from a meeting of two...Me and my Bible. Love you.

  8. No finer legacy to be sure... Yes, I am involved with a Bible Study daily, however, not a specifically women's study. That would be quite special, I think.

  9. I agree with Vee above, a great legacy. So many women have no idea and think that Women's Lib is the answer and it's not.

    1. It's such a blessing to watch my daughter and her daughter embracing the truth of God's plan for women. I didn't know my grandmother. She passed away when I was very young...I think she too was a godly woman.

  12. I have not been in a bible study in quite some time, Wanda. It was always fun to really get to know the women on a deeper level than just in passing. I am glad you have had a good session.
I think it is so important to pass on our "goodness" to our kids and grandkids. xo Diana
