CREATIVE TUESDAY ~ DREAM

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.    C. S. Lewis

The theme for Creative Tuesday is "Dream".
I love this.  I am a dreamer and when I saw C.S. Lewis's quote I immediately thought of laying in the cool grass and letting my dreams soar!  I must confess, most of my dreams are when I'm awake...guess that's day dreaming.

This is a simple sketch then some watercolors...added some sea salt to the grass while it was damp to give some texture.  I got my chin too large..but nobody's perfect!! HaHa  You can see from the painting I still see myself thin and with red hair...see I truly am a dreamer...HaHa

To see all the other dreamers.....just click on the CT badge on my sidebar.  Excuse me while I go find a patch of cool grass..... :)

    1. I do have a lot of dreams. The thing I love about day dreaming....all alone, in a peaceful place...is it escorts you to another world..away from the daily routine..when the day dream is over... I ready to tackle the job at hand.

  3. Wanda,
That's lovely. It reminds me of a spa weekend I had with my daughter. Hot tubs, steam room, sauna, sitting and reading and if there were grass there I would have laid down on it! I wonderful time to pray and dream. Dreaming to me is thinking big thoughts.
    Blessings,
    Janis

  6. beautiful pics. One of the things I told the kids to do when they were bored was to look at the clouds and see what shapes they took.

    1. That's what kids sitting with video games miss...I grew up across the street from an old cemetery, and we laid for hours in the grass day dreaming. That what my painting says..but with me grown up.

  8. Love the quote and your beautiful artwork. Makes me want to find a patch of grass too. I used to love doing that as a kid. Or lying on the dock with the water lapping underneath me.
I fear if I got down there now... I'd never get back up!

    1. Isn't that a great quote... I love that it's ageless. I think I will always be a dreamer. However, like you and probably worse....it wouldn't be pretty seeing me get up....But that's another story.

    1. Yes, daydreams can escort you anywhere, when sleeping dreams take you where they want to go. I like both...but like being in control of my daydreams.

  10. I love day-dreaming, and while I myself do love dreams when I remember them, I resist true sleep more than I should. There's always just so much to do and not enough time in the day. But I love your illustration, and the wonderful quote along with it! "You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." C. S. Lewis -- That can be a daily struggle, and I am really glad you posted that as a reminder to push forward. Thank you, Wanda <3

    1. I can't tell you how much I feel the same way. I wish I could remember all my dreams as some of them have been doosies. So real...once time my husband had to wake me because I was moaning so loud.. I was so upset with him...because in my dream I was getting away from the bad guys and I knew where a secret door was and I was almost there when my dearest woke me up. I said why did you wake me...I knew where the secret door was....He just shook his head and turned over. HaHa

  11. Hi Wanda, I really like this "dreamy" piece of you. The expression on her face is very dreamlike. And I didn't think the chin was too large. Super job! :-)

  15. You know what I really love in this one, Wanda? It's your clouds behind--soft and billowy, inviting one to daydream for sure. Well done!

Great CS Lewis quote too. He has so many, doesn't he? So, one thing you left off here--what do you like to (day) dream though? I think that would be very interesting.

    1. HaHa....they may surprise you, but I love to make up stories and usually I'm the story teller, spinning big tales from places I've never been, with people I've never met...If you ever saw "Out of Africa" years ago, Meryl Streep wound those tales in and out and I loved how they intertwine...Yes, in my day dreams.... I make up wild tales of adventure..

Quite different from my real life which I love, but I love a good story.
