CREATIVE TUESDAY~ LAZY DAYS OF SUMMER,

I'm trying to stretch my envelope and be more creative.  I've been really inspired by a few fashion magazines lately and so my faceless beach goers are enjoying their "Lazy Days of Summer".

Pencil sketch first, and then watercolor.  She just needed to be a redhead!! Decided to leave the umbrella white to show off their tans.

    1. HaHa...no I enjoy my retired life to much to "work" again. I'm sure having fun playing around with the fashion sketches I must admit.
Love the suit...it's cute and modest. It was a really fun piece to do.

  2. Wanda, whoa, some stylin' peeps here So, that must be you and the hubbie, right? Maybe few years ago?

You know what I enjoy about this piece? It's the negative space for the umbrella with the warm reds and browns against that cool cool blue. Looks great! Love seeing anyone try something different too. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this! I only wish I knew how to surf! Well, not that that would help much here in Colorado anyway! :)

    1. Michael, thanks for your encouragement. You know leaving the umbrella white was an afterthought, as it was the last thing to paint. It just seemed putting color on it would take away from the main characters.
So glad you recognized me and my dearest. Isn't he a hunk!!! HAHA ~~ In my dreams ~however I do remember a bathing suit I had in college like that. Bible College,,needed to be modest..HaHa.
Thanks again....love being back in the loop.

  4. even though they do not have actual features, I like their attitude so nonchalant, so very ready for the summer - it's great. and the blue and pink and her red hair is so perfect and just right for the theme.

have a lovely rest of the summer.

    1. Thanks. Afraid my sis and I didn't get in the surf...I would have liked too, but we were doing to many other things. We lived in Santa Barbara for 6 years early in our ministry and me and the kids lived on the beach. Love those memories.

  7. Beautiful work, Wanda. The pose of your redhead does come through that she might be a fashion model sharing the beach with the handsome surfer dude. Love the colors too! :-)
