TUESDAY TIDBITS ~ FUN DAY

Today was our Annual Inspection of the units at Villa Ramona.  We were in the group of the first 5.  As soon as the inspection was complete we took off for a little "Junking".  It was noon by the time we finished, and Don was feeling like "IN*N*OUT"  Burger".  He has his hamburger almost finished before I grabbed the camera.  Best hamburgers ever!  My dearest like his with extra onions and extra sauce.  And his was a 5 napkin lunch.  HaHa

We found a "like new" bathroom scale for $4.  I'd been wanting a new one, and this style at Target was almost $30.   So I'd say we got a deal.  The only thing I don't like about it, is the weight it shows when I step on it...Grrrrr.

I know they are out of style,  but the gypsy in me loves baggy palazzo pants, $1.99.  These are from Banana Republic and tie at the ankles.  At the second Thrift Store, I found a loose knit top $4.00 (Jones of NY) that matches pretty good.  All I need now is some spangles, hoops and beads.  And perhaps a flower in my hair.  HaHa

The very BEST deal of the day was the large fig tree in the parking lot at one of the Thrift stores.  Most were green, but searching under some low leaves I found several that were ripe.  I ate one on the spot....NO I didn't wash it off, I blew it off just like my mother use to do when I was a kid and dropped cookie on the floor.  It was so sweet and so juicy.  These made it into the trunk of the car and now they are washed ~~~~and ready to enjoy.

Those are tidbits for this Tuesday.   Hope you're having a great day.

  1. Glad the inspection is over with and that you two had a nice day. Many of my blog friends talk about these burgers; sure looks delicious! Great deal on the scales and I love the name brand clothes you found. John found a like new HUGE baseball book at the thrift store yesterday for $2. I love figs and these look so pretty. My parents had a fig bush and we would have to wrestle with the chipmunks for them! lol
Wishing you a very nice evening. Always a joy to check in with you.

    1. It was a good day. I was thrilled with our finds. Don found the scales...he always looks in the "Stuff" shelves. I usually am in linens or clothes, sometimes dishes.
These figs are the best ever...so big and juicy. Rich pink inside.

  2. I don't like my scale anymore either....at least you got a good deal. I'm not sure what is in or out of style anymore. I am more into comfy. Never had a fig...glad you found some yummy ones to snack on.

    1. Betsy...we've got to get you a Monte Cristo, and now a fig. I'm sure you would love the juicy sweet pink flesh behind that green or black skin. I eat skin and all!

  4. One of my blogging buddies was looking for figs and could find none. I must tell her to visit your thrift store parking lot. Nothing is out of style for those with panache! I think both my husband and I would enjoy one of those hamburgers.

    1. Who would think that tree would produce the best ever figs. I don't know how much water it gets,,perhaps some come under the fence from the house on the other side of the lot.

I like "panache" I had forgotten that very descriptive word.

  5. I bought some new scales too but the price was far greater than yours!
You'll be happy to know that palazzo pants and harem pants are all the rage again. So comfy.
Those figs look delicious, and I agree about the "germs" - we have become an over-sanitized society.
    Oooooo - love Don's burgie - yum!
    Enjoyed your tidbits. xoxo

  6. Boy, you got a terrific deal on all your purchases. My scale and I haven't seen eye to eye for a very long time!
Love how Vee called you someone with panache. She sure has that right.
Love In N Out! We'll have to go there when you are here. Been moving some furniture in the living room which means the drawers and shelves have to be cleared. What a job ...they needed it so badly and now I'm glad it's done but the process leaves a lot to be desired. I will try to private message you on FB tomorrow afternoon. Need to fill you in on younger son.

  8. Wanda, I am so glad you blew the dirt and germs off your fig. LOL Did you find any big leaves to wear? :):) I love your new pants little gypsy girl. I always think things can be re-worked. Here's a story about scales. Once day at work, a fellow and I were talking about the new scales that could talk... I said," Like I want a scales yelling out my weight?"...my friend said, "What if it said, one at a time , please." Oh yes a talking scales was not invented by a woman, let me tell you that. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. HaHaHa...I would need a VERY BIG fig leaf. I'm not an Eve by any means. I had two of those figs for breakfast and googled and found out they have only 30 Calories and full of calcium and potassium.
I do not like talking scales
I do not like their rude schemes
I do not like them, I' think they are mean!
HaHa..I do like green eggs and ham.
      I do

  9. I have a similar scale and I don't like the numbers I see on it either. As my husband's weight goes down, mine goes up. That just doesn't seem fair. ;)

How cool that you found a fig tree in the parking lot. I wonder how many other people do just as you did.

    1. It's a man thing...same thing with my husband. However, I must admit I cheat more than he does, and its shows up on the scales. Oh Well.

I got my figs before we went in the store, when we came out I saw another lady looking for some as she was eating one too. I thought I got all the low ones... tee hee.
