SUMMER COLORS ~ WEEK 5

This Week:
We'll be working on our fifth - of six - weekly color palettes. It's pretty, preppy, and I hope you'll agree, really, really fun. I loved working with this combination and can't wait to see how you tackle it! So you ready?! Okay then, our color palette for Week Five of The SOC 5 is . . . .

1 Green + 1 Green + 1 Pink

I'm joining a new Art Group and for the summer they are doing
SUMMER COLORS
I'm getting in on Week 5 of 6 weeks, but know they will have something new when this is over.

As you can see from the directions above you are to create something artistic using only using two shades of green and pink.

Since I have new watercolor supplies and need practice I decided to join.  This is my contribution using only Hooker Green, Sap Green and Cadmium Red (diluted).  The browns are a mixture of hooker green and cadmium red.

To see all the other participants just click on the new Badge on my sidebar, Color by Number.

    1. I may have read the rules wrong, but I thought it was just the three colors. Anyway, you can mix those colors and come up with a different color like I did with the beige and dark brown in the center of the flower.

  18. Beautiful!!! It's so much fun mixing colors! I have ALWAYS loved the name 'Hooker Green!' I work in oils and we HAVE no 'Hooker Green!' I am familar with Sap Green, though!
While I enjoy mixing colors, laying the palette is my LEAST favorite part about art! At least with oils, you can FREEZE your palette so you only have to lay it once for a painting that can span a few weeks!

    1. I've never worked in oils as my love of watercolor started early in life. I might have pursued a life of Art, but God had other plans...So I'm a painting Preacher's Wife...HaHa.
I love mixing colors....and this was a challenge to use only green and pink. But a fun project and I need the practice on these weekly challenges. My pallet is covered and I just need to refresh the paint with water each time I use them.
