MONDAY ODDS AND ENDS

Fourth of July with Michel and the Torres side of the family.

They know how to put on a feast!   This was my first plate...HaHa

New Summer cut and perm!  Need to get in the pool and started working out again at the Health Center.  Exercise and Zumba Gold.   Short hair and a perm makes it easier.

I love this old tea kettle and the start of creeping charlie is beginning to really grow.

This is the last letter I got from Elizabeth.  I will treasure it.  She was so happy I got the Kitchen Aid that she had to write and tell me and send me her bagel recipe.  I'm sorry to say, I never got them made....but I will make them now in her honor.
Thank you all so much for your sweet comments on my post of Elizabeth's passing.  They were so special to me.

Lots of odds and ends around here....but I'll stop with these.

Have a great week !

  1. You are so beautiful. I love the tea pot. I think it's just the right rusty/ crusty for a creepy crawling plant. Wow! I wish we had someone to lead excerise classes here at our apartment. It's been hard for me to connect with anyone since we've moved. A class would be good. Take care and continue to share.

    1. Bonnie, you are too kind. I love that rusty crusty pot as you call it. My insurance covers the program so no money out of my pocket. Yeah. Looking forward to the Zumba class on Tuesday.

    1. Michel's in-laws really know how to put on a Mexican Feast. Last year they roasted a whole pig in the ground. This year a lot of family couldn't make it, but they still had a table of great food.

I'm a little nervous about making bagels but the recipe sounds pretty easy....just time consuming.

    1. Chris...it feels like I knew her more than 7 years. But the friendship really grew when I was able to visit her weekly before we moved. So glad she responded to the invitation to know Jesus Christ.

  6. It really is so special to know that she though so fondly of you and that she still handwrote letters. Like she said, if she could make those bagels, so can you. :)

    1. My hair feels so good....like I lost 10 lbs. HaHa
My hair is very thick and grows fast, so it won't stay this short long.

btw... I love your hair now.

    1. I love old stuff too. A cousin gave me the tea kettle, and I have my mother's gasoline iron from the 30's and her old meat grinder and flour sifters.

  12. I know you miss your sweet friend......
YOU, my dear, are STUNNINGLY beautiful!!! Love the cut and perm - it suits you perfectly!!!
Creeping Charlie......I had some of that years and years and years ago! It did so well for so long and then all of a sudden it became ill and smelled foul and started to die.
If I find some I plan to buy it and give it another try. Right now there is not ONE house plant in the entire place! I had so many and no place to put them so I left them outside last year - and they all died. Of COURSE they did! I still don't know why I did that except I was tired and could not figure out where to put them in the house!! Shameful of me, I KNOW!!

    1. Thanks so much Linda. I truly love long hair, but I think you are right..short and perm fits my face better.
I have all my plants on the balcony, with the exception of a little plant in my bathroom.

I don't see Creeping Charlie at the nurseries but this was a cut from Aunt Trula's and it has just creeped all over. This a start in the tea kettle, but I have a big one in a pot that just keeps creeping. I've never had one smell or die.
