CREATIVE TUESDAY ~ "AQUA"

I took a break from Creative Tuesdays a while back.  I was out of supplies, and truthfully not motivated.  One of my dear blog friend and artist said something that really touch me when I said I was taking a "Art Break".    She told me not to worry, when a painting was ready to be born, I would paint again.  That just kept going over and over in my mind, as I had sometimes called my paintings my babies.

So here I am in the labor room, ready to birth some new babies.

The theme this time is 'AQUA'  and since I am in the process of getting new supplies and paper, this is one I did a while back.  I didn't want to wait, but wanted to get back in the group while my heart was ready.

This was done is a very few minutes just dabbing color and lots of water on paper with out a sketch ~~with summer here....and aqua the theme, it seems a good choice.  That's what I love about watercolor ~it can be very simple or complex.

I'm very excited to be back with the CT group, and so grateful for Laurie's wisdom and her encouraging words.

  3. Oh, I love this, Wanda. Reminds me of the song The Girl from Ipanema... "Tall and tan and young and lovely..." I so wish I could draw/paint/sketch.

  4. Wow, Wanda, making a splash on your entry back into CT, hey?! I love it;s quickness and freshness too. I know Alexandra likes to do that with watercolours too-- some quick, no sketch painting to get her creative juices going. Great idea. I'm glad you just went for it adn did this while the mood struck. how fun! So glad Laurie was such an excellent midwife in waiting, so to speak, too!

Great to have you back on CT! :) Thank you for taking the time too!

    1. Thanks Christine ~ Summer is here and this was the perfect theme to express it. The pool is in the complex where we live, and one morning...two ducks decided to take a dip and I had my camera handy.

    2. Haha, I remember seeing that photo on your blog. how funny a site that must have been. I love your strries of your complex. It's starting to feel like a home away from home. You are so good at that, Wanda. Those peeps are VERY blessed to have you and Don there, for sure. I'm sure you are not only showing love in action but praying for them all too. That is what life is all about. :)

  7. Wanda, welcome back. I have missed seeing your lovely watercolour paintings and this one is a delight with it's lovely loose and fresh feel. Your banner could also be called aqua, such a lovely pool complete with two ducks!

    1. The banner is the pool in he Senior Complex where we live. One morning a couple of ducks decided to take a dip...then flew off. Haven't been back. I had my camera handy and caught the pic. Thought it would be good to round out the theme today.

  8. Welcome back, Wanda! I love these watercolors, so perfect in color, theme, and medium for summer. I could see these as illustrations in a magazine about fashion, and/or beach vacationing. Lovely job!
