GRANDBOYS AND COOKIE SHORTCUTS

Sunday afternoon we had visitors at the Tree House.  Michel brought the great grandsons,  Matthew and Issac for some fun at the playground and snacks.  They are growing up so fast.  We had a lot of fun playing "Catch me if you Can" and I'm afraid I'm slower than I use to be...I never did catch Matthew.  HaHa.

Because I'm baking so many cookies for my "Cookie Ministry" at the Tree House, I enjoying this SHORTCUT.  After I make a batch of cookie dough,  I roll it into 4 logs, and wrap in plastic wrap.

Then I either freeze or refrigerate and when I'm ready to bake cookies, cut every inch, and place on the cookie sheet. I don't have to mess with making the dough or the clean up.

Years ago my mom had a recipe for "refrigerator cookies" that she rolled into a log and then cut and baked.  I can't find the recipe in my recipes...maybe I'll google it.

  1. Love their smiles - handsome boys. Still can't believe you're a great-grandmother. Shortcuts are great... And so are shortcakes! Hee hee.

    1. I tried three times to just get a natural smile...but they think they have to put on their "fake" smile when I have the camera. HaHa.

    1. Martha, it's almost scary they are growing up so fast. It was a lot of fun, but they pooped me out. I sure felt my age after chasing them and going down the slide. (yes I did). I only freeze on batch at a time.

  5. Your boys are adorable! I'm slower when we play Tag these days! It's hard to believe you are a great-grandmother of boys that age and also have the little grandson. :-) cool!

    1. Our oldest grandchild is 28 and has the two boys. Our youngest daughter had her first and only child, Tristan at 44. So the greats are older than the grandson. Go figure...They are spread out from 2 to 28..that quite a span. Two are graduating this year, one from High School, and one from 8th gr. We keep busy with grandkid.

Your Tree House Cookie Ministry is so you...lucky people and kiddos.
Just said good bye to our Bible Study group...5 gals and Dave tonight! It was an awesome time with plenty of laughter and some deep down sharing. Sometimes that's exactly what the Doctor ordered. Wouldn't trade this dear friends for anything.
Wished we could have connected when we were down in your neck of the woods but it was a short trip and every minute was filled, it seemed. We loved seeing and hearing Amanda perform at Disneyland. Very special memories. Sure miss you two though.

    1. It's working really nice, and taking the pressure off making dough and baking cookies all at the same time. I love those little guys.
