A REALLY GOOD SATURDAY

Pulled Pork and Cold Slaw sandwiches.
 Blueberry Banana Bread...w/drizzle.

 Old Town Monrovia Street Fair.

A movie and enough points to get a free popcorn!

This morning I had an eye to eye encounter with a darling little humming bird.  He came right up on the balcony.  That settled it.  Since I can't have a humming bird feeder...how about a trumpet plant in a pot (This one is called Sun Parasol).  I stopped by the Nursery after the movie, and I hope this entices him back.

And what a nice surprise was waiting in the mailbox for me.  Our cousin in Idaho sent me these Vintage Scatter Pins...She said they had my name all over them.   I guess this is another reminder I need to start painting again.

What a super good Saturday.

  1. Hi Wanda, Yes, it looks like a great day. Your sandwich and the bread look delicious. I would love the street fair. I am sure this beautiful trumpet plant will attract your hummer friend. I adore the vintage pins...perfect for you. Wishing you a blessed Sunday.

    1. Since it's just the two of us, I get a small pork roast and brown it and put it in the crock pot with some BBQ Sauce...a few hours later, its so tender, and just "pulls apart"...Add a cold slaw and a roll and walla ...dinner. I haven't had scatter pins since High School.

    1. Somewhere along the way, I lost my desire and motivation to paint...maybe all the new things here at the Villa...but I need to get back to it. I really like what Laurie said below.

    2. Yummy - pulled pork and coleslaw - can't beat that! I would never have thought to put blueberries in banana bread. Double yummy. Hope your little hummer returns to the tree house. What a perfect flower for him/her.

  3. great idea to encourage humming birds, legally, lol, I'm not allowed either,, we learned out why the hard way!
The pins are lovely and you will paint again, when you're ready,, when there is a painting waiting to be born, you will paint, that lunch looks wonderful!

    1. It was a good day. Saw "Age of Adeline" Very interesting movie. Reminded me of the old movie with Mel Gibson "Forever Young". Lots of twists and turns. Rather slow moving..but I enjoyed it.
