A NEW RUFFLE IN THE KITCHEN

All the windows in the apartment have blinds and a vertical on the slider.  I decided not to hang curtains or drapes when we moved in.

But today, as my dearest and I were doing a little "junking" I saw this cute cotton valence (still in the plastic bag) for $2.99.  I immediately pictured it above the kitchen window and using a pressure rod, didn't have to use any nails or screws.  It just gave the kitchen a new face.  I love it.

Also found a cute skirt and top, and it the sun will shine Mother's Day  (been overcast and chilly) I will be sporting a Spring outfit. Will share a picture later.

Hope you all a Wonderful Mother's Day Weekend.

  6. Beautiful valance at a great price. Like you, I chose not to hang curtains in this home but occasionally I find myself looking at pretty valances. The tension rod is a great idea. Wishing you a wonderful Mother's Day.

    1. I think it really looks perfect there. Since the window is between two cabinets the tension rod was perfect.

      Happy Mother's Day.

  7. Love the little valance, it just adds a finishing touch to the window. We have blinds too and I put valances up also. it will be gloomy, cool, and cloudy here....we don't have any plans for Mother's day anyway. Hope you have a great celebration.

    1. Sometimes it's the small things that bring me the most pleasure. This little valence she did that.

We might not have sunshine for Mother's Day either, as it's overcast and chilly today.

      Happy Mother's Day.

  8. How charming! It's like a lovely cut-work form of Battenburg, which I like so much, I have it everywhere---even in a pair of "shower curtains" I used for a wall of windows in the "pretty room," as our Sweetpea calls the guest room upstairs.

I just ordered a new pair of very short sheers embroidered with pale pink silk roses, for our new kitchen---we've been out of place for three weeks, now, but the cabinets are here, and so we progress.

    Your window is simply lovely.

    1. It wasn't the original packaging...but it was obvious it had never been unfolded or used. I really like the effect it gave the kitchen.
      Happy Mother's Day...love and hugs
