THROW BACK THURSDAY AND OTHER THINGS

For years we have had the tradition of a "Turkey Cake" for Thanksgiving.  A chocolate cake, and the kids would cut out a head and tail feathers out of construction paper.  This is Amanda, probably about 5 years old.

This picture of Amanda was taken Christmas.  She's 21, in college and working.  Where do the years go?

We have had so many visitor since we moved to the Treehouse.  I love that our friends can see where we live.  Seems we are in the path from anyone coming from Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm or in this case Lake Arrowhead.
We met Tom when we were in Biola College, and he was in Seminary.  Molly has a new friend, Chico!

We didn't meet his wife, Juliana until years later when we renewed our friendship.  She was born in Holland and came to US when she was 16.

Molly got a new haircut yesterday, and now I can see her cute face.  She loves the balcony and the weather has been so warm she loves to lay in the sun.

You might have to squint...but when I saw this cloud, I saw a big chocolate "KISS".  Do you see it?

  2. "Kisses" to you too. Love that shot.
I'm glad you have company and long time friendships. That makes the TreeHouse so extra special.
Miss Molly looks like a princess with her new hair-do.
Our son Steve finally made it home from Africa yesterday.
It only took him...50 hours!! Snow and ice delays in Newwerk New Jersey really complicated things. I can't wait to hear all about his trip...after the jet lag goes away.
    Have a wonderful week.

    1. If I could get more sky shots, I would be tempted to join SWF again...but mine are few and far between. Too much uneventful blue sky down here. HaHa

How exciting it will be to hear of Steve's trip from Africa. 50 hours..... ouch!

  6. What a fun cake idea - love it! Molly looks all freshened up and ready for her close-up. Ha. I am sure guests feel very welcome in your home - word's out to visit the treehouse! And I definitely see the kiss - how fun! Matches up with Betsy's hugs in her RAK post.

    1. I think we've done that cake for 30 years. It started with our kids and then the grandkids.

I hadn't thought of that of a RAK, but opening your home certainly is an act of kindness.

    2. I meant that her Hershey hugs in her RAK post matched your Hershey kiss in the clouds. But yes, opening your home is a huge RAK. :-)

  9. Your granddaughter is beautiful and Molly is so sweet. How nice that your friends come to visit. When I lived in San Antonio, we had loads of company and we were always taking them to the main tourist attractions. I saw them so often, I could have given the tours.

    2. All the years were in ministry, our parsonage was a bed and breakfast more than once. I did have a guest room there, so we had overnighters. Here we only have room for visits. But whatever time we have is nice.
