I camped out in the kitchen today.  I needed to make a large pot of potato soup to take to our Soup and Salad potluck at Ladies Bible Study tomorrow.  Also I wanted to get a goodie box ready to mail to our grandson, Kaleb in Illinois and our friend, Tom in Texas.

We sampled it for dinner.  (Had to make sure it was good enough to take tomorrow).. HaHa

Three loaves of Banana/Date Pecan bread.  Two large and enough for one little one for us.

Made a big batch of Chocolate Chip cookies and of course added the drizzle.  Added some crushed pecans on Tom's and ours.  Kaleb's is plain.

I called Kaleb to tell him his box would be in the mail tomorrow, and he said "Don't mail it GG, I'll be home on Saturday for Spring Break."  Sure glad I called or his box would be sitting in Illinois and he would be here.  I will take it to him when he gets home.

I will mail Tom's tomorrow!!

How was your day?

  1. Haha, just send that box this way, dear Wanda.

Your grandkids are certainly blessed to have you in their lives.

I was wondering how you are coming along on the old inspiration front. No pressure at all, but did think I should let you know that the next CT theme is Flower (followed up by Bouquet after that) as I do know how you love to paint them so (normally).

BTW, when there on CT you will see a link to my new blog! Back to writing again some to help me out of my own slump of sorts I've been in a while.

    Talk to you later. ...

    1. Thanks Michael ~ I have been peeking in at all the lovely artwork at CT. This continues to be a little cray as we are planning a trip to OR to see our little Tristan for Easter. I have given some more thought to CT and you are teasing me with flowers and bouquets aren't you?? You know my well. I will check out your new blog. You have a way with narrative and art. Love and Hugs

    2. You have been a busy bee! And it ALL looks so good. Your friends and relatives are very fortunate indeed. Do you tell them that you tease us first here before it's given away? Hee hee.

  2. Well, aren't you just a busy girl? That food ALL looks wonderful. Glad you didn't mail that package out -it would have been stale by the time he got back there.

Hope you have a great week- xo Diana

  3. Yummmmmmm! Looks delicious, I am sure they will enjoy their packages!

  4. That was good timing on that phone call!! ;) Such a wonderful lady... baking all that love and sending it. And, I know that potato soup is going to be much appreciated at your Bible Study. blessings ~ tanna

  5. It rained all day yesterday. Day 13 out of the last 16 with either rain, snow or ice. I'm not complaining though, we need it bad. I used to love care packages when I was in the Air Force. Cookies, VCR tapes (LOL) pictures from home. That bread looks good.

  6. My favorite kind of day! It's very satisfying at the end to look at your edible accomplishments! That drizzly bread looks delicious!

  7. My address is 111 LaLa Lane....LOL!

  8. I bet your kitchen smells wonderful with all that baking. I love to share home-made goodies with those I love. Enjoy your afternoon.

  9. You're one busy lady. Raining here at the moment, so I'm doing laundry. Still in my nightgown. Tomorrow hair cut, Thursday another Trigger Injection for my back.

  10. I admire the heck out of you- ...what a gramma, and friend, etc. Wish I lived in yoiur complex. I'd help you out and take some of that off your hands and I could do something in return like walk your sweet dog or ....well I can't offer to do yard work for you which is what I'm best at, lol....because you have no yard.

  11. I'm betting your kitchen is the envy (or maybe the joy) of the entire villa. People probably smell what's cooking, look up, and see a smiling cowboy sitting on your balcony.

  12. Looks delicious!! Good thing you called.
I am sure your grandson will be so happy to enjoy these treats and the ladies will love the soup.
    Blessings dear. Catherine xo

  13. Well, ok, made it! Got all the way back to the last post I read of yours! Phew. You've been busy with travel indeed! Miss you, Wanda. Hope you and the hubs are well. You are richly blessed and cherished there and from afar.
